Around 2.3 million people in the UK are living with CHD (the main condition leading to stents). Many of these will have had PCI/stents. If you know anybody with a stent please tell them to avoid products containing Folic Acid to avoid having to have another stent.
Starlink coming to EasyJet
easyJet has just announced that it will be installing SpaceX's @Starlink on its fleet.
Installations will start in first half of 2027 across the airline’s modern A320, A320neo and A321neo fleet, with the rollout expected to be completed by early 2028.
"easyJet’s investment in onboard connectivity is a key step in further enhancing the experience for 100 million passengers who already choose to fly with the airline each year."
easyJet CEO Kenton Jarvis:
“Innovation is in easyJet’s DNA and partnering with SpaceX to bring Starlink’s high-speed internet connectivity onboard for the first time will not only further enhance the experience we provide millions of customers, but means we are offering more of the options both business and leisure travellers want when they choose who they fly with. Giving customers the opportunity to get online in the air will mean even greater choice and convenience when you fly with easyJet."

Looks like the economics finally started working for easyJet.
Back in January their CEO said the Starlink numbers weren’t stacking up. Now they’ve signed for the Airbus fleet starting first half of 2027.

A350 wheel half and the A320 one right next to each other.
Both aluminum alloy wheel halves. A350 one is just a lot bigger for the 1400×530R23 Vs the A320’s 46×17R20. Same design, different scale.

WATCH: Another angle of yesterday’s Jet2 Boeing 737-800 (G-JZHE), operating flight LS1310 from Venice, shows the moment it veered off the runway at Birmingham Airport, UK.
Crosswind landings require precise control inputs, especially during the flare and the transition to ground roll.
During the flare, the pilot uses the rudder to align the aircraft’s nose with the runway while applying opposite aileron as needed to prevent the upwind wing from lifting. In this case, right rudder would be required if the aircraft needed to yaw to the right to align with the runway.
Timing is critical. Correcting too early or using the wrong combination of rudder and aileron can cause lateral drift. At touchdown, the aircraft should be aligned as closely as practicable with the runway centerline.
Once on the ground, rudder effectiveness decreases as speed reduces. Nose-wheel steering, linked to the rudder pedals on the 737, helps maintain directional control during the rollout. However, strong crosswinds and sudden gusts can make the aircraft difficult to keep aligned.
Birmingham Airport (BHX) is known for challenging crosswind conditions, and the recent Storm Boelo and Austen affecting the UK made these conditions even more demanding.
Something worth noting: if the pilot transitions from the rudder pedals to the toe brakes and releases some right-rudder input before directional control is fully established, that could affect the aircraft’s alignment. However, the footage alone is not enough to confirm the exact control inputs or establish the cause of the runway excursion.
Had the aircraft struck the elevated runway edge lights or other hard objects, the landing gear tire could have burst immediately! I am sure there are deep cuts on the left main gear tire and some flat spots due to excessive braking.
After such an incident, the crew normally reports the occurrence through the operator’s safety reporting system and files an Air Safety Report. The aircraft would also require an appropriate inspection before returning to service, with the extent of the checks determined by the event and the applicable maintenance procedures. The CAA will be involved locally.
I have seen instances where, after an incident, pilots simply park the aircraft at the gate and leave without filing a report to cover themselves, which is bad practice. During inspection, maintenance finds out, and then they are in trouble.

Status showed CAB PR 2 inop so I did the usual check.
On the A320 you have two cabin pressure controllers. One active, one standby. They swap themselves or you can swap by pushing manual and back to auto.
Manual mode exists for when both sys fail in flight... crew takes the toggle and controls the outflow valve. Cabin still pressurizes, just by hand.
But we don’t dispatch with both already inop. One can be on MEL. Both inop are still allowed on some MEL but unpressurized flight.

Walker: "I nearly bought a wool jumper in town. £140. Nice work if you can get it."
Farmer: "I got about £2 for the fleece."
Walker: "£2?"
Farmer: "Per sheep, per year. Clipped it off her in two minutes, rolled it, bagged it, drove it to the depot. The cheque for the whole flock didn't cover the diesel."
Walker: "Then who's getting the £140?"
Farmer: "Not me, not the shearer. He costs me more per sheep than the wool fetches. I pay to have it taken off."
Walker: "So you lose money shearing."
Farmer: "Every year. And I can't not shear, or she cooks in July and the flies eat her alive. The wool's a welfare job that used to be an income."
Walker: "Sell it yourself, then. Cut out the middleman."
Farmer: "Not allowed. By law it goes through the board. Has done since 1950. I can keep a fleece for the wife to knit with, and that's about the extent of my freedom."
Walker: "So where does it go?"
Farmer: "Washed in Bradford, if we're lucky. Shipped to China, spun, knitted, shipped back, and sold to you with a label about heritage. By the time it's in the window there are eleven people between us and I'm the only one who met the sheep."
Walker: "That's mad."
Farmer: "My grandfather paid the rent on the wool cheque. I pay a man to take it away. Same sheep, same hill, same jumper in the window. Only the price of the farmer went down."
Walker: "What would fix it?"
Farmer: "You buying the jumper. And asking them where the other £138 went."

Today’s clock rules:
1. The iPhone clock automatically went back 1 hour.
2. Wall clocks to be wound back 1 hour.
3. It will take 1 hour to work out how to reset the oven clock.
4. The car clock will remain 1 hour ahead of time until the clocks go forward in March.
5. Britain will probably have a power cut and all the electrical clocks will have to be reset again.

Most people only see the shape of the B737 winglets. Let me show you how these are actually attached.
On the 737-800 the main winglet uses 18 Bolts. The ventral underneath takes 8 more.
Outside it looks like a nice aero add-on that saves fuel by shrinking the tip vortex. Inside it’s just more stuff that has to stay tight.

WebMD says too much cholesterol causes heart disease. Then explain this...
136,905 hospital admissions for coronary artery disease. Lipids checked within 24 hours.
Almost half had LDL under 100.
17.6% had LDL under 70.
Only 21.1% were on a cholesterol drug before they came in.
Now the numbers WebMD skipped.
More than half had HDL under 40.
Fewer than 10% had HDL of 60 or higher.
Average triglycerides: 161.
Low HDL with high triglycerides is the fingerprint of hyperinsulinemia. Sugar and high carbs cause it.
The authors' answer? Push LDL even lower. I'd fix the insulin first...
