According to local accounts, Oromia Special Forces set Chamuq on fire and looted civilian properties, while threatening similar attacks on nearby settlements.
Civilian casualties have also been reported. The Ethiopian Federal Forces are said to have withdrawn without intervening as local Somalis in Moyale continue to defend their towns against the attackers.

🇾🇪🇸🇦 Yemen's Saudi-backed government declares tribal gatherings in Houthi territory "legitimate military targets" and tells civilians to stay home
The Defence Ministry's case is that the Houthis use tribal rallies and cultural events to recruit children and young men for the front, so the rallies themselves are now on the strike list.
The warning comes with Saudi jets already hitting Saada's phone network and Ras Isa's fuel line.
A tribal gathering in northern Yemen is a few hundred people, their elders and their kids.
Targeting them is how a counterinsurgency ends up bombing the people it needs to win over, and the Houthis have run on exactly that grievance for twenty years.

News: #Ghana set to overtake #Ethiopia as Africa’s eighth-largest economy after #Kenya takes East Africa lead
Addis Abeba — Ghana is projected to overtake Ethiopia as Africa’s eighth-largest economy in 2026, with its gross domestic product (#GDP) forecast to reach US$128.64 billion, exceeding Ethiopia’s projected US$127.15 billion by US$1.49 billion, according to the International Monetary Fund’s (#IMF) October 2026 World Economic Outlook (#WEO), as reported by African Business Insider on 17 October.
The projected shift comes after Kenya overtook Ethiopia as East Africa’s largest economy in nominal US dollar terms, marking another change in the continent’s economic rankings driven partly by exchange-rate movements rather than differences in real economic growth.
