Becoming impossible to deny that N Ireland Protocol has provided NI with an extraordinary degree of protection from Brexit damage. Oppose the Protocol by all means but there are now virtually NO economic grounds to suggest it does anything but benefit NI.

Service will be patchy today. Am spending a couple of days at a major London hospital. Full piece to come but spending time on a ward full of patients gasping for air is deeply sobering. One woman has lost her husband and two children to Covid and is fighting for her own life.
