Imagine ever trusting a Kimi model release again.
Post 3 Exposing Kimi AI Here after I refused to comply and started criticizing a creator who's spreading their propaganda they texted me again asking to delete a comment I had i couldn't even believe it like who the F are you to ask me to delete a comment I don't work for you and never will with any scammy company like this.

this is your periodic reminder that AI 2027 was and is unreasonably well calibrated.
I'm tired boss

Now just remember this is the level of understanding their correspondents have in other domains too. Gell-Mann Amnesia rules our lives
The BBC's "strength in depth" means that its "Cyber Correspondent" has never heard of a language that runs half the websites on the Internet.

If it’s part of a legitimate investigation of course it’s OK. How do you think investigative journalism works you idiot. “Here you go. Here’s my ID. It’s my NUJ pass”. You honestly haven’t got a clue have you…

On the one hand, sure. But on the other hand, we’ll have Ozempic for hedonic adaptation by then
I don't know why people keep pushing this idea. It's completely incommensurate w/ everything we know about human psychology. As soon as you raise the baseline, people will habituate to it and recalibrate their perceptions of inequality (and the entailed psychological suffering will shift accordingly). This is a phenomenon I've in the past called "fractal sensitization", and to the extent one fails to account for it, one will tend toward misanthropy when humans invariably fail to demonstrate the appreciation declared necessary by Central Planners.

Lex Fridman interviews a PHP security researcher Lex: My guest today discovered a critical vulnerability in PHP. What is a vulnerability. Researcher: A weakness that allows an attacker to compromise a system. Lex: But aren't we all vulnerable. Researcher: Yes, but Lex: Is love a vulnerability. Researcher: We're talking about remote code execution. Lex: Could an attacker remotely execute love. Researcher: No. Lex: Stalin executed millions. Researcher: What does that have to do with Lex: Do you think Stalin was happy. Researcher: I have absolutely no idea. Lex: Fascinating. We're 3 hours in. Let's talk about consciousness.

I wonder why I stopped enjoying this story the moment I realised it’s AI. I used to really enjoy this kind of ridiculous storytelling even knowing it’s fiction, it doesn’t seem to be particularly badly written, and I’m generally very pro-AI - so why do I clock out the second it pattern matches to AI writing for me? Weird phenomena
Security called me at 6:12 AM today. "Patch every PHP server immediately." I asked what happened. "Two critical vulnerabilities. Remote code execution. No authentication required." Cool. How many PHP servers do we have? According to inventory: 12 According to reality: Nobody knows. We found one running WordPress. Three running old internal tools. One under someone's desk. Two inside vendor appliances. A forgotten employee directory from 2016. And a server named: PHP-OLD-DO-NOT-TOUCH Naturally, that one runs payroll exports. Then we found a PHP 5.6 box. I asked who owned it. The documentation said: BRIAN. Brian left in 2019. We called Brian. He said: "Oh wow, that's still running?" Excellent. By 8 AM, leadership joined the incident call. CEO: "Can hackers actually get in?" Security: "Potentially yes." CEO: "Without a password?" Security: "Yes." CEO: "Then why do WE need passwords?" Not the lesson. Finance asked if we could wait until the weekend to patch because downtime affects revenue. Security explained that the alternative was letting strangers execute code on our servers. Finance asked for a cost comparison. At 9:17, someone suggested temporarily taking the vulnerable websites offline. Marketing refused. "Our campaign is live." So for the next hour, the company officially decided maintaining a landing page for 20% off webinar registration was more important than preventing remote server takeover. We finally patched everything we could find. Then our scanner discovered another PHP server. Hostname: TEMP-PHP-2014 Uptime: 4,512 days. Nobody knows what it does. Nobody owns it. Nobody can shut it down. But every time we block network access, the warehouse stops printing shipping labels. Security has classified it as critical infrastructure. It is running PHP 5.4. The vulnerability has existed longer than half our employees. The emergency patch took four hours. Finding out what PHP actually runs took eleven. The internet isn't held together with code. It's held together with servers everyone is afraid to turn off.

PLEASE MAKE IT STOP I can’t think of any more good names for all my agents 😭
We’re opening a research preview of Claude Duet, a new app where Claude works as a proactive agent. It comes to you with what needs your attention, completes tasks you ask of it, keeps working when you step away, and checks with you before it acts on your behalf.

“Let us be very clear, it’s a LIE that HSMs were not used. We used HSMs. But we just discarded the keys they generated and used other keys instead” Who thought this statement was a good idea? 😭

Can we all take a moment to appreciate that @ilyasut named the company Safe _Superintelligence_ inc. back in *2024*? How far into the future can this guy see?

More private keys by the Indian certificate authority have been discovered. These are all small numbers. People are suspecting that they interpreted 384 bit keys to mean that they should pick numbers from 1-384 to use as their private keys.

Probably the best one yet. Like, if this was announced on dev day we’d might not have needed the whole “28 days later” post event
Day 16/ You can now cache for 12h in the API and for logged in users across Codex & Work we keep cache forever and you don’t have any penalty for coming back to an old conversation or resuming after a few hours and are now guaranteed to hit the cache.

440K Vera Rubins should be enough to summon a small deity, right?
ELON MUSK TARGETS 13 GW OF AI COMPUTE BY 2027, WITH 440,000 NVIDIA VERA RUBIN GPUS IN A SINGLE TRAINING CLUSTER Musk says SpaceX is on track to bring roughly 200,000 $NVDA GB300 GPUs online per month for the remainder of 2026, with deployments continuing at a similar pace next year, primarily using Vera Rubin. The company expects to have 2.5-3 GW of compute online by the end of 2026, with another 10 GW potentially coming online in 2027. Musk also plans to have a 440,000-GPU Vera Rubin training cluster operational by the end of Q2 2027. To support the expansion, SpaceX is targeting an additional 20 GW of power and cooling infrastructure next year. Musk said there is a “non-zero possibility” of exceeding 20 GW of operational AI compute in 2027, although he acknowledged the probability remains small.
