Since reopening, we’ve been making an effort to solicit more original photography and artwork from our contributors. This painting comes from Dale Bridges and will accompany his short story, “The Strange Sad Ballad of Jimmy Sutton,” on Oct. 30 along with other great work 👀

Our Halloween-adjacent issue (Oct. 30) is full. Our last issue of the year will be Dec. 4, and we will close for submissions when this issue is full and then reopen in the new year. If you have some words for us, submit sooner than later trampset.org/submissions

Please help us congratulate our Best Small Fictions nominees @emilyrinkema Pravin Vemuri, Thad DeVassie, & @sarpsozdinler. We wish them all the best of luck! Read their nominated stories ⬇️

Please help us congratulate our Best of the Net nominees for this year! @abhii106 @tylercdempsey Avra Elliott, Stevie doCarmo, @Garricologist @embedodo_ @tenderiswarmth Sara Quinn Rivara, @Ibn_Yushau44 & @halfmoonwhiskey

The end of the sequence (spoiler alert):

Mary Austin approves. 🏔️

Our managing editor’s account was hacked a few weeks back and has evolved from crypto investment to BTS army. It’s fascinating in a sick way, our economy of scams. FYI, real L Mari is over at Bluesky.

A movie based on contributor Shelby Van Pelt’s novel is coming to Netflix 👀
