Kickstart 2.1 is out now! It's another fantastic release with killer features to help everyone make more money on the App Store. I tried to make a short video showing just some of the most important Kickstart features, and it still ended up being 17 minutes – it's really packed!

You don’t close out the first-ever Swiftsonic with a fade-out.
@twostraws, creator of Hacking with Swift, gets the final word.

It took two months to build Kickstart 2.0 because it was so feature-packed. 2.1 will ship faster, but to help you stay up to date I'm starting a (very irregular!) email newsletter – Kickstart news, yes, but also app growth tips and more. Sign up free here: newsletter.kickstart.tools

I highly recommend Kickstart Exchangeby @twostraws . I use it for my two apps and keep checking the statistics, just like when I launched my first app. That forgotten excitement when you check it a few times daily. Very easy to integrate!

Joined Kickstart Exchange by @twostraws with my apps. One is live, and the other waiting for ASC review. Easy to integrate, feels good. And an excuse to ship an update.

Indie developers: are you working on a new app or app update for iOS 27?
I'd love to take a look for my annual iOS review and coverage on @macstoriesnet.

I love this initiative from Paul
The community needs an ad exchange program managed by someone with integrity and good standing
(So you know it’s built for the builders)
I trialled building one myself but the challenge is making it fair while ensuring the system doesn’t get gamed or exploited. It was a harder problem than I anticipated.
Like: how do you tell a view from an app is actually a view from said app?
Very pleased to see the effort, time and attention to these problems tackled by Paul here
Looking forward to using it
It's not easy for indie developers to market their app, but I've built a solution that works for everyone – and it's both free and 100% private. It's called Kickstart Exchange, and it enters beta today. Find out more here: exchange.kickstart.tools

A quick analysis on my portfolio and noticed a few trends:
1. Exact match keywords in title got a boost
2. Single word keywords got punished
3. Related keyword abstraction* got punished
* Mu running theory was that Apple rolled out some sort of basic AI to rank apps. It would group related keywords like my fish identifier would show up for the search "tropical fish". You could think of it as training an LLM. My quick look shows these related keywords have all been hit.

I’m happy to answer anyone’s questions about how Siri AI works with apps.
Journalists, creators, developers, and business folks alike.
The App Intents API is deep & I’ve been living in it for years.
iOS 27 is finally out via public beta! I wrote for @verge about how much Siri AI has been impressing me, but why Apple needs to court developers (looking mostly @google ) to truly make it work this time. For real for real on god. No cap.
