I heard today from a Korean friend, son of one of the most prominent Christian pastors in South Korea.  The pastor has been arrested by the new Communist-leaning government in South Korea for calling out the election fraud that took place there. His son said that his daily Bible reading this morning was 1 Kings 19. Elijah had just defeated and killed the 450 wicked priests of Baal, who had been brought into the Kingdom of Israel by the wicked queen, Jezebel.  Jezebel swore to kill Elijah, and he fled to the mountains. While he was recovering, God spoke to him.  It's a famous passage from the Bible, because he learned that day that God didn't speak to him form a great whirlwind, or an earthquake, or a fire, but in "a still, small voice," that is by a feeling and an impression.  And God told Elijah that he was not alone, that there were 7,000 strong men in Israel who had not worshipped Baal, and that among them was Elisha, who would grow to become a prophet as great as Elijah one day.  And with those 7,000 and the help of Elisha, they brought back the glory of the Kingdom of Israel and turned them away from chasing after false gods.  I found that story very comforting, because when we are handed a defeat like this, we are inclined to feel very alone.  and we may despair of ever again turning the hearts of our fellow citizens to preserving the rich heritage of our nation and our Constitution.  Too many of them seem to be chasing the false gods and false hopes of Leftist ideology.  But we are not alone, and those with us are many more than Elijah and Elisha had.   And that passage reminded me of another, in 2 Kings 6, when the king of Syria wanted to kill Elisha, and had surrounded him with thousands of soldiers.  And his servant was afraid, but Elisha said,  Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them. And Elisha prayed, and said, Lord, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the Lord opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha. Like Elijah and Elisha, we are not alone.  And we are not fighting this battle alone.  I would ask each of you to tune in to your most deeply held religious faith or philosophical belief, the kind that got you involved in fighting these battles in the first place, and use the time over the next couple of months to recharge those beliefs and to touch the Infinite.  Nothing else will save our country but a return to God, who gave us our liberty in the first place. Remember the 4th verse of our National Anthem? “Oh! Thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand,
Between their loved homes and the war’s desolation,
Blest with vict’ry and peace, may the Heav’n-rescued land,
Praise the Pow’r that hath made and preserved us a nation.
Then conquer we must, for our cause is just,
And this be our motto – “In God is our trust.”
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave,
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave.” And to return to a less religious and more political tone, we still have the Presidency and the entire Executive Branch of the government.  If we quail, or hesitate, and attack one another, and compromise our principles, we will fail.  Nobody will follow an uncertain trumpet or flock to a wavering banner.  We need to strengthen the courage and determination of President Trump and everyone who serves in the Administration to hew to correct principles, and Fight, Fight, Fight for America.  May God Bless you all, and may God bless America.
