I grew up in a religion that didn't celebrate holidays. I eventually got away from that aspect of my life. When holidays came I would spend them alone. I would see friends post photos with family and feel so jealous and envious. I didn't want to beg to not be alone. 1/2

One Christmas I decide to take initiative. I got my friends gifts and drove to each of their houses to drop them off. Later everyone talked about how happy they were. I really felt close to them. The very next Christmas not a single one said Merry Christmas to me. I was alone.2/2
