Good time to provide inbound liquidity to Loop if making money is something you're interested in!
For those who saw the LOOP traffic spike on Sunday, I did a bit of analysis (AI wrote, I reviewed)

⚡ lnd v0.21.5-beta is out, plus v0.20.6-beta for 0.20 nodes
Both: safer revocation + taproot commit handling, --fee.url estimates capped at 10k sat/vb, SQLite fix.
0.21.5 only: stricter aux HTLC checks, fewer SQL queries.

The Foundation team is actively working on this. Tag me with any questions and I’ll work to answer as fast as possible. We will share a formal report when we have all details.
Passport devices are safe and secure.
What we know so far: some of our backend infrastructure was compromised via a vulnerability in a self hosted app.
Attackers were likely able to compromise our customer support inbox. They were also able to send emails that appeared to be legitimate.
Within 10 minutes of user reports, we shut down attackers’ ability to send emails and booted them off our systems.
For a subset of customers with mailing addresses or phone numbers in their emails, we believe that came from (1) access to our customer support inbox, (2) cross referencing and inserting data from other recent crypto leaks and, possibly (3) recent orders on our new Shopify website.
We will figure out exactly what happened and we will share more details tomorrow.
I’m very sorry.
ANNOUNCEMENT: SPAM EMAILS HAVE BEEN SENT THAT APPEAR TO HAVE COME FROM OFFICIAL FOUNDATION DOMAINS.
We have traced this back to one or more compromised API keys on Cloudflare, and have already revoked all API keys.
The malicious domain in the spam email has been taken down.
Funds stored on Passport are safe and Passport hardware is not compromised.
We are working nonstop to discover exactly what happened and will put out a report ASAP.

New release: Electrum 4.8.3. This release fixes a critical security issue, so we urge all users to upgrade. A description of the vulnerability will be published later today. (note: Windows Defender may show a warning about ZXing.dll, ignore that, it is a false positive)

🛑 Attackers hijacked over 300 Tor exit relays to intercept SSH connections and steal login passwords.
A researcher found 333 exits redirecting SSH traffic to 12 interception servers.
The Tor Project has since blocked the affected relays.
Here's how the attack worked: thehackernews.com/2026/10/at…

🚨🚨@BTCPayServer has updated its available opt-in woocommerce/wordpress deployment on its docker installer following the critical PHP vulnerability diosclosures.
UPDATE IMMEDIATELY IF YOU ARE USING WOOCOMMERCE DEPLOYED THROUGH BTCPAYSERVER.
SIMPLY PRESS UPDATE INSIDE YOUR BTCPAYSERVER.
Kudos to @ndeet for the quick shipping here.
Effective Immediately, all organizations using PHP for their systems are advised to be prepared for an update addressing two critical vulnerabilities. PHP is widely used for web applications. These vulnerabilities often provide a direct path to the server's file system or database. If an immediate update is not feasible, it is recommend that organizations take the system offline until it can be fully mitigated. NSA will follow up shortly with more specific guidance.

peep the code!
all primitives in place and tested, but no clients yet
clients can be light clients, they just follow the spends on chain to keep up with the operations of the tree
a 3rd party can give you the leaves, and you can verify the merkle sum

there's code for all the primitives, but not yet a client/server to implement it all:
