Spread the word.. let’s save as many fallen trees as possible. Don’t cut down uprooted trees due to cyclone Arnab.. let’s put them back up wherever possible. #cyclonearnab #telangana #odisha #andhrapradesh #trees #savefullygrowntrees

Our lakes filled with sewage.. our roads flooded with rainwater.. and #Hyderabad wants to take up Rainwater Harvesting seriously?? This pond off Road No 6 Jubileehills was “developed” recently.. part of #Rotaryclub sponsor.. We had been consistently posting about the blunder that the concerned depts @GHMCOnline @HMDA_Gov @HMWSSBOnline were doing but none of them bothered and went ahead and ruined a perfect waterbody which now is filled with sewage while the rainwater flowed away.. earlier this water body helped control flooding.. today it is a sewage cess pool thanks to our brilliant planners. When adversities are seen as opportunity.. and when there is no accountability.. what else can we expect?? Normal citizen can do a better job. they wont need to blunder first to find out simple solutions later.. #KBRBlunder #Rainwater #ElNiño
THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE FROM A PLANNING BODY.. What kind of thought process do our planners have??? If the awareness of conserving our ecology is lacking we will be happy to organise training sessions for the entire @GHMCOnline team… till they learn. A waterbody being finished off and Dozens of trees have been cut down too!!! A beautiful waterbody in the middle of a concrete jungle first gets filled up with sewage and now is being filled with debris!! For what?? Creating a park??? This has to be UNDONE immediately. These waterbodies.. however small help maintain the water table.. your job, in which you failed miserably, was to ensure sewage didn’t make its way into it.. instead of fixing that and restoring the water body you decide to finish it off??? @Comm_HYDRAA pls consider this as good as occupying a lake in the heart of Jubilee Hills (Road No 5). Pls restore the pond if GHMC fails to do so. @CommissionrGHMC @gadwalvijayainc @UrbanGhmc @PrlsecyMAUD @HarithaHaram

For years, trees have protected us from floods and storms. Yet, we continue to cut them down to make way for development that often worsens the very disasters they once shielded us from. Perhaps it’s time we rethink what progress really means. Because development that comes at the cost of our natural safeguards may not be progress at all. #savefullygrowntrees #TreeConservation #ClimateChange #SustainableDevelopment #trees #Environment #TreeConservation #ClimateChange #SustainableDevelopment #UrbanFlooding #Nature #EnvironmentalAwareness #GreenInfrastructure

50 stray dogs inhumanly relocated to forests in Jagital About 50 stray dogs were taken from Cheppial Village in Jagtial District. The way the dogs were caught has raised serious concerns for their safety and well-being. Adulapuram Goutham from the NGO said it is disappointing that these moves continue, even after many complaints. Stray Animal Foundation of India has asked Commissioner Divya Devarajan IAS to stop the illegal moving of stray dogs from villages to forests. #Jagital #Jagitalnews #Telanagandogcapturedinhumanly

Forget #RWH .. @GHMCOnline is busy building new RWC “Rain Water Canals” another CC road which will have ZERO percolation.. With consistent efforts they have managed to finish #Hyderabad s groundwater table. Unpardonable.. in cities where the planners go for study tours.. but who asks...

He spent his lifetime in conservation.. only to see his favourite trees being cut down.. as he watched helplessly.. Daripalli Ramaiah.. or Vanajeevi Ramaiah.. or Treeman of Telangana.. spent his lifetime planting and nurturing over 10 million saplings.. he was awarded a Padma Shri in 2017.. and within 7 years while he was still alive.. his favourite trees in his village were brutally cut down.. by the very same Govt that had awarded him a #padmashri.. he passed away a few months later. 💔💔 #savefullygrowntrees #trees #thebigtreequest #telangana #Conservation

A “simple idea” supposedly saved over a 1000 Crores.. another one will save 1000 more and you don’t even have to dig footings and cut trees to find out. Scrap the 4.5km flyover too. Its another blunder. #KBRFlyovers #KBR #KBRBlunder #Telangana #Hyderabad

Last month, during an inspection deep inside the Udanti Sitanadi Tiger Reserve (USTR) that spans Chhattisgarh’s Dhamtari and Gariaband districts, senior forest officials spotted something alarming. A number of trees, a majority of them Sal, Bija and Tendu, were found girdled in the Karka area. The process, in which portions of the bark is removed to cut off nutrient supply, eventually results in the death of the tree. In all, over 2,000 fully grown trees were found girdled Written by: Jayprakash S Naidu Read: indianexpress.com/article/in…

One word.. and 2 questions. 1. Shame 2. Who are the officials who recommended the KBR flyovers? 3. Whose idea is the 4.5 km flyover (there is no need for that too) #KBRBlunder #KBR
GHMC Commissioner R.V. Karnan, inspected the ongoing #flyover works near KBR Park in #Hyderabad He spoke on road🛣️ infrastructure projects and traffic arrangements around the park🚌🛺🛵🚗 Video credit: @nagaragopal

Every project impacting KBR has met bad luck. Though only a few people come out and protest.. millions in #Hyderabad want #KBR intact. We wish for KBR to be further strengthened.. What KBR needs is further exclusivity.. further isolation.. from “development” 1. Remove all eateries 2. Remove all hoardings 3. Shift multi level parking from peripheries 4. Ensure KBR lake is free of sewage. 5. Ensure clean rainwater flows into KBR through drains… etc As for traffic management it’s not complicated and can be fixed with very little effort. All it needs is a multi level approach..
Why lessons from #Hyderabad’s KBR faux pas must inform our future The Govt appears to have realised the futility of more #road infra only after the stretch around the park was converted to 1⃣-way traffic🚗🚌🛵🛺 to facilitate the structures @Hindu_vs thehindu.com/news/national/t…

We lose billions of ltrs of water every year.. every city.. every town.. solving the water problem is no rocket science.. it needs integrity.. it surely doesn’t need megha projects.. the erstwhile planners knew it then… but not our present planners. #rainwater #irrigation #megaprojects #corruption #hyderabad @GHMCOnline @HMDA_Gov @HMWSSBOnline

#Hyderabad A decades-old neem tree stands in the middle of Karkhana road, steeped in folklore and worshipped as Mahankali. As infrastructure works bring plans to translocate it, devotees demand that tree remain where it has stood for generations. Full story here- thehindu.com/news/cities/Hyd…

Simplicity is in the air!!! We read somewhere the Oneway around KBR was our Honourable CM’s simple idea!! This is great!! We do hope he has another simple idea to restore the lost greenery for this experiment and another simple idea to avoid this new flyover as that too is not required.. We need simple ideas to ensure #KBR is protected for ever.

So True!!
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s simple idea of introducing one-way traffic around #KBR Park appears to have done what years of discussions, plans and proposals struggled to achieve — ease one of #Hyderabad’s most notorious traffic bottlenecks. For decades, motorists travelling through #JubileeHills, #BanjaraHills, #FilmNagar and the #KBRPark stretch have endured crawling traffic and frustrating peak-hour jams. Now, commuters are experiencing smoother movement — and many motorists are openly praising *mCM Revanth Reddy for thinking beyond the conventional approach of building another flyover or underpass. The change is also fuelling a larger debate: Do we really need to spend thousands of crores on a network of flyovers and underpasses around KBR Park if a smarter traffic-management solution can deliver results? This is what governance should be about — solving problems with ideas before reaching for concrete. Instead of immediately digging, building and spending thousands of crores, the #RevanthReddy government has shown that better traffic planning can sometimes achieve what massive infrastructure projects cannot. And perhaps the biggest takeaway from KBR Park is this: Not every traffic problem needs a flyover. Sometimes, all it needs is a Chief Minister willing to think differently.🚦
