The 49–50 Senate vote exposed the real divide:
• Coinbase, Circle, Ripple, Kraken — plus BlackRock, Fidelity and Goldman Sachs — want clearer rules and room for digital-asset innovation.
• JPMorgan, ABA and ICBA want stronger safeguards around stablecoin rewards and bank-deposit competition.
Lawmakers also raised ethics, #AML, consumer protection and national-security concerns.
The bigger question: how should crypto, stablecoins, banks and DeFi coexist?
