Finding myself going back to RSS/Atom feeds a lot more recently. There's a lot more higher quality longform and a lot less slop intended to provoke. Any product that happens to look a bit different today but that has fundamentally the same incentive structures will eventually converge to the same black hole at the center of gravity well. We should bring back RSS - it's open, pervasive, hackable. Download a client, e.g. NetNewsWire (or vibe code one) Cold start: example of getting off the ground, here is a list of 92 RSS feeds of blogs that were most popular on HN in 2025: gist.github.com/emschwartz/e… Works great and you will lose a lot fewer brain cells. I don't know, something has to change.

💯 @ Spec-driven development It's the limit of imperative -> declarative transition, basically being declarative entirely. Relatedly my mind was recently blown by dbreunig.com/2026/01/08/a-so… , extreme and early but inspiring example.

@airesearch12 😉 For MS/GH this is just another side project, for us this is the *only* thing we focus on. We're not perfect by any means, but we are outcompeting a billion dollar org and actually giving a f*ck about our users instead of treating them as just marketing for Copilot.

I lived in Oakland for 7 years. My car was broken into 3 times. Looking forward to progress in Oakland, as I am considering moving back. Great video that shows how friendly the people are even in "challenged" neighborhoods. youtube.com/watch?v=mh2cU-Z1…

I am a big fan of closing the US land borders to un-controlled immigration. As a refugee who came here legally, I think this is a return to normalcy. Unfortunately, my brother got caught in the blast radius of the current policies -- his wife, who is Ukrainian, got denied entry. They were married in Las Vegas and they have 2 small children who are US citizens. He is a small business owner who ran a Yoga studio near Las Vegas and he needs to be in the US physically to make a living. They can’t go to Ukraine because her hometown is close to the front line. To make ends meet, they moved to India and are in the process of opening the Family Tree Oasis — a holistic kindergarten, school, yoga & meditation center. If you are able to support them in this project, please donate via gofund.me/73186c4bd . If possible, please re-post.
