Patrick Stewart was, like many of the greatest British artists of the 20th Century, a working class boy who became a world-class artist thanks to a public arts education made possible by Post War social democracy. He never forgot it.
Rest in peace and power Patrick. You were a model of professionalism, kindness, ability, skill, talent, and luminescence.

🚨HOLY CRAP:
Turn this off on your phone right now.
Go to your iPhone settings - accessibility - audio & visual - LIVE LISTEN.
Turn off LIVE LISTEN.
It even says it keeps TRANSCRIPTS.
This is NUTS.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Live Listen is Apple’s official accessibility feature that streams sound from the iPhone mic to the user’s own AirPods or hearing aids. The Remote Control setting is optional. It does not enable third-party access or always-on listening.

Every day. EVERY. Damn. Day. There's another scandal, crime, or issue that would have completely ended any other person in public life. We will spend the rest of our lives trying to find out how and why this particular person spent the majority of their lives with utter impunity.

It's fucking crazy that an investigation exposing how Jared Kushner laundered billions if dollars through Azerbaijan, including payments to a warlord, a mercenary, and a hitman, isn't getting more attention.

Late stage capitalism is when people who bought up property and fucked the housing market go on strike because they can’t force their guests to do domestic labor

There is something deeply wrong with a political system that allows one trillionaire to buy his own personal U.S. Senator.
This is nuts. Neera and company won't stop tweeting about Piker. Journalist interviews them to ask them why they won't stop talking about Piker. Neera and company point to the question itself and ask, "Why are YOU talking about Piker so much!?"
What I find meta about this whole discourse is @mehdirhasan attacking everyone for talking about a streamer in California when he constantly asks people about him and then pushes out the videos. I pointed this out in my conversation with him at Georgetown when he asked me about Piker. Seems kinda hypocritical
Every election for the last decade, I have seen video footage of people trying to vote for the Democrat and the Republican nominee gets the check-mark on the screen. Now we live beyond the looking glass in AI video land. But this shit happening every few years is just maddening.
We are deliberately handicapping our ally and and aiding and abetting a recognized authoritarian expansionist aggressor. This would be unimaginable ten years ago. This is beyond nuts.
Latest: Zelenskyy tells reporters over WhatsApp that restrictions on Ukraine's Starlink systems remain. Interceptor drones can't function, logistics and operations hobbled. The maximum speed is 161 kph; "exceeding this limit causes the Starlink connection to cut out completely, resulting in the loss of the drone."
He says Ukraine has done tests to determine whether SpaceX is truly facing technical issues, as has been told Kyiv by the US side, or if this is a "deliberate operation... to restrict us, cut us off, and prevent us from defending ourselves and protecting our people, both at the front and among the civilian population."
He says Ukraine "sent a couple of vehicles equipped with Starlink terminals into European Union territory."
"They moved at speeds exceeding 180kph, and the Starlink systems worked perfectly. We have the relevant logs and evidence to prove this."
He adds: "The conclusion is clear: the restrictions are in effect within Ukraine but do not apply within the European Union. In other words, this is a planned operation."

This. THIS 100%. It's the most evil act of the 21st Century so far. Maybe one of the most evil acts in the history of the world.
Alex Gibney: “There was an estimate that what [Elon Musk] did by suddenly cutting USAID would cost through disease and starvation as many as 14M lives. Even if you discount that, we know within a year of those cuts where they were literally burning food going to starving children, 500K children died. This is really a crime against humanity, but he makes a joke about it, I put USAID into the woodchipper. What he put into the woodchipper were children”

Ukraine spent 5 years developing their defense from Russia around Starlink, and last night, Musk cut it off to help Putin.
This morning, the halls of power in Europe need to understand that Musk, Trump and Putin aim for total dissolution of democracy, and the primary target is Europe.
Hey @benshapiro, you should release him from the project.

Because today ICE shot a New Yorker. They shot a New Yorker while his five year old child was in the car.
ICE makes this city less safe.
We want them out. Now.
