Latest publication: Hammers and Nails: Military Innovation as a Strategic Dead End
In this article I argue that innovation has become an end-in-itself, supplanting the much harder challenge of defining a meaningful, justifiable and achievable strategy
Many thanks to the folks at @milstrategymag for publishing my work.

Between dumbarse Andrew Neil and Rentoul, I can’t understand why Britain is so banjaxed.
Just astonishing Sunday newspaper nonsense passing off as actual commentary.
🙄FFS

Andrew "bumbling" Neil is someone who has been PM and can obv comment from experience.

Party to celebrate Ian Hislop's 40 years as editor of Private Eye & 65 years at the magazine. Has anyone currently in public life held the same job for longer? The Eye is the greatest journalistic institution of my lifetime. Long may Ian and the Eye reign.

The result is not the absence of strategy, but the gradual displacement of strategic judgement by the expectation that technological change will compensate for unresolved political and military problems.

I cannot reply directly to @NigelBiggar because he has blocked me, but I again cannot understand why it is so hard to apparently understand??
It is not relevant how much the UK or any other country is comparatively growing into other markets, rejoining the EU would guarantee *greater* UK growth ...into the EU27 ....without adversely impacting its growth into other markets ...
Because rejoining the EU would again remove the hardest of barriers to trade & growth into the EU27, which the UK resurrected against them by leaving the EU. The hardest of barriers to trade here which the UK has not removed into any other country. Growth here will thus not be impeded by rejoining the EU,
just vastly increased ...into the EU27.
On how Brexit didn't actually mean Brexit because it would have meant even higher food inflation.
And as a Brexit bonus we get lots of imported "illegal" meat "products" because the UK doesn't actually check food imports....
This report fails to tell truth this because GB no longer part of same single market under mutually recognised legal authority. Instead GB now needs border controls it hasn't got the extra capacity for. "How Britain became dumping ground for illegal meat"
