as a longtime Dreamcast scener and contributor to KallistiOS (dreamcast scene's homebrew OS kernel which serves as its SDK) I'd been working on porting it to GameCube for the past month or so as a fun project to get out of my longtime Dreamcast bubble
now after yesterday's Wii Homebrew Channel / libogc news this just got a lot more interesting
this is just in the early stages but I have KOS toolchain, build system, startup/init, enough EXI code to print to USB Gecko, and now implementing CPU-level things that KOS needs like timers and exceptions.
my plan has been to finish all the core kernel stuff and then put it up for wider contributions to implement drivers for hardware subsystems. this will be a long way off from being usable for end projects of course, but i hope one day KOS GameCube (and Wii) can be as featureful and polished as it is for Dreamcast

Wow, a lot of you have asked me about the way I wired in the Picoboot from my earlier post.
It's really not that big of a deal, here's how you do it:
1) Insulate the bottom of the RP2040 with Kapton.
2) Solder all of the wires to the motherboard.
3) Route all of the wires into the RP2040.
4) Apply a dab of hot-glue to the bottom of the RP2040 and position it into position.
5) Clip wires and solder into position.
- I've always cringed when looking at GameCube that have the Picoboot tethered and hot-glued to the controller ports. You don't need any special mounts and you don't need to mount the RP2040 outside of the main board.

The real challenge was getting bluebomb working for homebrew. Had to set up a Ubuntu VM and passthrough Bluetooth. Looking forward to making one for myself ASAP 🤘🏻
