Couple beside me in the theater made several quips, saying Holmes "should work for The Donald" after she told an obvious lie. It's pathological. Also, shut up during the movie!
This thing where liberals have uncontrollable audible outbursts whenever they hear something they disagree with really needs to be studied. What in the world is going on there? I’m being totally serious. I’m not trying to make fun of anybody here or just saying something snarky. It’s very strange the way they audibly gasp whenever they hear something with which they disagree. I’ve never once heard a conservative do this. Go watch an Ann Colter video from 20 years ago where she speaks to a liberal college audience. They literally cannot sit still and listen to somebody say something with which they disagree. Nervous laughter, audible moans and groans, literal gasps. And every other speaker who goes up to the mic feels compelled to ask her, “do you really believe what you’re saying? I mean, is this a bit or do you really believe it?” Again, I’m not trying to be funny or snarky here. It’s very weird how just one political faction does this.

BECERRA: "If you want to know where a leader's going to take you, know where they've come from. I don't know if we've ever had a governor who comes from where I come from." ZAVALA: "Sacramento?" LMAO
What will be the biggest difference between Xavier Becerra and Gavin Newsom if he's elected governor? Becerra immediately pointed out his fluency in Spanish. He also signaled he won't jam the California Legislature:

Fag babble is a tonal language like mandarin, extremely difficult for none native speakers to ever learn. “Diva” can have 9-12 different meanings depending on pitch/tone/accompanying sounds
a gay guy calling you “diva” can mean anything from “i love you” to “you’ve fundamentally misunderstood the situation”

I think it's both! A lot of people don't use AI on principle. The idea that AI (pangram) could protect these people from having to read a bunch of AI slop complicates their simplistic moral framework. Conceding that AI has pro-social uses gives away the game.

Law professor Josh Blackman called the NYT out on politically labeling conservatives more often than liberals, and editor Patrick Healy acknowledged he was right: “It can come off like The Times treats liberals as normal and conservatives as unique and worthy of labeling.”

Yeah, Pangram's false positive rate is higher for shorter texts-- especially ones hovering just over its 50 word minimum. I'm genuinely curious to see proof of the false positive you found. DM me?

Pangram is exposing a new strain of AI derangement that I find fascinating. The tool *obviously* works as advertised. The impulse to assail its integrity with false claims comes, I think, from a deeper fear that AI has already irrevocably changed how we express ourselves—from mundane emails to literary fiction. It feels like something has been stolen from us. If these people can convince themselves AI isn't actually that good at detecting human writing, then surely the world they feared—with its job loss, its cybersecurity risks, its deluge of AI slop—isn't as close as people say.
