On this day — 27 October 1728 — Captain James Cook was born, a navigator whose skill, and curiosity reshaped the world’s understanding of the Pacific — and left an enduring mark on Australia’s history. Cook’s prowess as an explorer was unmatched in his era. Across three great voyages, he charted vast stretches of ocean with extraordinary precision, mapped coastlines never before recorded and set new standards for seamanship, scientific observation and crew welfare. His charts were so accurate that many remained in use for centuries. For Australia, Cook’s 1770 charting of the east coast became pivotal for colonisation. His detailed maps, coastal descriptions and reports of the land’s potential influenced Britain’s decision to establish a colony — a turning point that would transform the continent forever. A birthday marking the life of one of history’s most skilled navigators & a central figure in Australian history.

Free Holly
Holly, a mother from the NSW Central Coast, is facing up to five years in prison after being arrested and charged by the AFP with six counts of publicly displaying a prohibited Nazi symbol. Each count carries a mandatory minimum sentence of 12 months in jail, with a maximum of five years per count. As if this situation wasn't stressful enough, she is going through a separation now making her a single mother fighting these unjust laws independently. Holly needs to be able to keep her freedom so she can work and raise her 14 year old daughter. If you believe in free speech and that posting online should not result in mandatory jail please consider contributing. Holly needs us and our support. We will be having discussions with lawyers today. Link for GiveSendGo in comments below, please share.

On this day — 24 October 1889 — Sir Henry Parkes delivered his Tenterfield Oration, calling for the Australian colonies to unite under a federal government. Parkes’ speech urged cooperation on defence, trade and national identity, and is widely seen as the spark that set Australia on the path to Federation. A defining moment in the story of how Australia became a nation.

🇦🇺PROTECT OUR HERITAGE🇦🇺 Victoria Barracks has stood in Paddington since the 1840s. Convicts quarried the sandstone, the buildings went up, and the suburb grew around them. For more than 180 years Australian soldiers have marched through those gates. It is one of the most intact Georgian military sites left in the country and the spiritual home of the Army. The Army Museum is located inside the original 1847 district military prison. None of that is going to matter if the federal government gets its way. In February 2026, the federal government announced plans to sell it as part of a fire sale of 67 defence sites worth around $3billion. Once it leaves public hands the Commonwealth heritage protections go with it. I'm unsure of who the organisers are, but I was sent a rally flyer for this Sunday, details are below. 25th of October 12:45pm Outside Victoria Barracks, Oxford Street, Paddington. The Army Museum is still open if you want a look inside when you get the chance: every Thursday 10am-2pm, and every third Sunday of the month 10am-3pm. Please note: myself nor Fight For Australia are involved in the organisation of this protest, but we fully support the message.

1 Australian man lost every 3 hours is #2500TooMany Men's suicide awareness event. Thursday, 22nd of October, 2026 9:30am - 11:00 am Phillip Precinct, The Domain, Sydney. In the year 2000, Australia was losing around 5 men to suicide every day, that's roughly 2,100 male deaths a year. By 2015, that had gone up to roughly 6 men a day, 2,270 male suicides in a year. It took 15 years for the number to increase by roughly 170. Then, in 2022, male suicides jumped by 97 in a single year, taking the total to 2,455, about 7 men every single day. The most recent figures available are for 2024 and male suicides reached 2,529. What had been a gradual rise over several years accelerated dramatically in just 12 months, yet the response was silence. Let's put this in perspective-in 2013, the Australian death by suicide total, both men and women combined, was 2,455. In 2024, male suicides alone hit 2,529, whilst women accounted for 778 deaths by suicide. In just over a decade, the number of men dying by suicide has exceeded the total national figure from 2013. Men continue to account for roughly three-quarters of all suicides in Australia. At the current pace, without a major shift in approach, we risk seeing the numbers rise higher and higher. This is clearly something which is affecting Australian men, the family courts put them through hell, false allegations they are forced to argue or fight in court, work and financial stress, constantly being labelled "toxic", or misogynists, when most of the time they are just doing what men are meant to do. Provide for their family, keep everyone in line, and be the masculine men they were always meant to be. Traditional gender roles have been pushed aside and our men feel lost in modern society. These figures are proof of that, something needs to change. We NEED to find a way to stop men's suicide, because straight up and simple, society could not function without them, no matter how many femi-nazi boss bitches we have. 1 man every 3 hours is #2500toomany. On the back of wings we fight to stop this.

Never forget who supported the only public event in support of BRS and all the veterans being persecuted for being good at what they were sent to do Get involved
On the 26th April 2026 the National Workers Alliance held the only public event in support of Ben Roberts-Smith, Oliver Schultz and other veterans who have been betrayed by their Government. The fight continues - all charges must be withdrawn. Those who have never known war do not have the right to sit in judgement of those who have been prepared to make the ultimate sacrifice.

Our supporters at @FightForAust are great at getting the message out there for us. Whoever put these ones up have managed to piss off MP @DanRepacholi 👏🏻 Instead of criticising the sticker, how about you pay attention to the comments on your post and realise you should be advocating for those who agree and are against the invasion of our once beautiful country.
