On October 23, U.S. Embassy Beirut Marines and Embassy personnel gathered for a solemn ceremony to commemorate the 43rd anniversary of the October 23, 1983, Marine Barracks bombing in Beirut, honoring the 241 American service members who lost their lives.
We read their names yet another time, laid a wreath, and stood together in silence. We honored the men and women we lost, and we promised to keep their memory alive and never forget what they gave.
