Put Butthead in command of the most powerful military and what could go wrong
🚨🇺🇸🇮🇷 Six days before the Iran strike window opens, Hegseth fired the general in charge of planning it The Pentagon's chief planner on the Joint Staff, a three-star who commanded the 101st Airborne and carries six Bronze Stars and a Purple Heart, was pushed out this week with no explanation and no replacement named, the second man forced out of that job in a year. Officials told The Atlantic Hegseth lost confidence in him and he didn't get on with policy chief Elbridge Colby. He's at least the fifth general removed this year and one of 26 generals and admirals gone since Hegseth arrived, after the Army chief of staff was fired at the height of the spring strikes while his service was supposed to be restocking the interceptors now in short supply. One more detail: X users noticed that the general's son, a FEMA analyst, had written something offensive after Charlie Kirk's killing, named the father, and told Hegseth to "review" his employment. The son was put on leave then; the father is out now. Whatever the reason, the job he held is the link between CENTCOM's strike options, Pentagon policy and the White House, and it's empty the week Trump decides between a deal and a week of bombing. End of story -- it is vitally and strategically imperative for Europe and the entire free world to take the most decisive steps to accelerate the development of their own alternative to Starlink. Otherwise, this profoundly hypocritical, infantile, walking embodiment of the Dunning-Kruger effect, drunk on his own sense of limitless power, impunity, and imagined moral superiority, will bring the entire free world to ruin -- all for the sake of the ketamine-fueled cockroaches in his head.

I have read dozens of outraged posts because the US special envoy Witkoff called Putin a "humanist." But no one is writing about the fact that the American negotiators are simply not doing their job. Let me explain. Peace negotiations are important in their own right. Even if they do not lead to a lasting peace, the process itself is an opportunity to resolve urgent humanitarian issues. If, of course, the human dimension is a priority for the negotiators. But it is entirely obvious that neither Witkoff nor Kushner cares about people's fates in this war. The Pope calls on Putin to save thousands of people from starvation in occupied Oleshky and the surrounding villages. The UN speaks about a humanitarian catastrophe and asks Russia to allow the evacuation of the civilian population. European Parliament Vice-President Pina Picierno goes on a hunger strike to draw attention to this tragedy unfolding before the eyes of the whole world. And what are Witkoff and Kushner doing? That's right, almost nothing. Except for passing along greetings from Putin’s aide to the First Lady. Thousands of people are already eating grass to survive and begging to save their lives. The Ukrainian side raises the issue of Oleshky at every meeting. And I can name dozens of such urgent humanitarian issues off the top of my head where American negotiators must be proactive. Trump’s peace negotiations have already gone down in history as the deadliest years for Ukraine’s civilian population since the start of the full-scale invasion. I don’t know if anyone will remember the names of Witkoff and Kushner. But history will certainly record how American negotiators, who had the opportunity to save a huge number of people, refused to raise uncomfortable questions before "humanist Putin."

With 16 years in renewables and an MSc in sustainable engineering, I can’t argue with this logic. Gas boilers won’t disappear overnight without a huge insulation drive, which risks worsening damp & mould. We still need gas & it’s better for environment to source it domestically.
I want Britain’s energy wealth to spark a new wave of clean power. Our decision to approve Jackdaw alongside the new Energy Wealth Fund means we invest in green transition and benefit from our existing natural resources.

📊 The 2016 Brexit electorate no longer exists. Peter Kellner has updated the sums using YouGov and ONS data. Since 2016: 🔹 Around 3.8m Leave voters have died, against 2.1m Remain voters. 🔹 Around 7m new voters have reached voting age, overwhelmingly pro-European. 🔹 Around 5m voters have changed their minds 👉roughly three-quarters of them moving from Leave to Rejoin. His estimate of how Britain would vote now: 🇪🇺 REJOIN: 20.0m 👉 63% 🇬🇧 STAY OUT: 11.8m 👉 37% A majority of almost 9 million. Brexit happened. Britain has lived with it for a decade. But democracy does not freeze the electorate in 2016 forever. The question is what Britain wants now not what it indicated in 2016.
📊 The Brexit majority hasn’t just slipped 👉it’s vanished. Completely. This chart from Peter Kellner/YouGov shows: • 5 million 2016 voters have died • New young voters back Rejoin by 5:1 • 29% of Leave voters now want to rejoin • Net result: Rejoin 19.8m vs Stay Out 11.7m ➡️ An 8 MILLION majority for Rejoin. Britain is now a pro-EU country. The only people keeping Brexit alive are politicians who benefit from the damage.

American Conservatives make our British Conservatives look like a party of Einsteins
Piers Morgan: “Are you joking or do you actually think that [Hitler] was very f—king cool?” Nick Fuentes: “He was cool... The thing with my generation is that we’re done with the pearl clutching.” Piers Morgan: “And what do you mean by Hitler is very f—king cool. Cause I think he is very f—king a monster.” Nick Fuentes: “And that’s a clip… Do you hear yourself. Can we call grow?” Piers Morgan: “He murdered 12M people. What is very f—king cool about that?” Piers did a great job! FOLLOW ME, THE NEXT DROP WILL BE SHOCKING.

This will go down well with everyone. We all hate parking mafia firms
🚨 NEW: Andy Burnham has announced changes to car parking fines - Drivers will have a 5-minute grace period to decide whether to park and 10 minutes to leave after a parking session ends - A £20 maximum charge on appeal for minor mistakes, such as entering the wrong number plate or not displaying a permit - Charges will also be cancelled on appeal for breakdowns, medical emergencies or broken ticket machines - The £100 cap on charges will remain - The rules will come into force as soon as possible and operators that break them will lose access to DVLA data

The decline of British high streets
Almost the entirety of the British Highstreet is now made up of 3 types of businesses: 1) Private Equity owned companies (Pizza Express, Burger King, Cafe Rouge, The Body Shop, Wagamamas, Zizzi, New Look, Bella Italia, Boots, WH Smith, etc) 2) Foreign owned businesses acting as fronts for skilled visa migrant scams and/or money laundering enterprises (Hairdressers, Kebab Shops, Vape Shops, etc) 3) Charity Shops. Largely in existence to sell off items left when people die. It's difficult to imagine anything more dystopian than this.

Killing children… a crime so sick and evil
A horrific Russian strike in the Kharkiv region. A “shahed” struck people directly – in a park near an ordinary café. Pure atrocity. Six people were killed, including children. A little girl was killed in a stroller – her name was Angelina, she was just over a year old, born in August 2025… Her mother’s name was Inna. She died in the hospital… Another girl who was killed was 11 years old. My condolences to their families and loved ones. Another 14 people were injured, including six more children. I am grateful to everyone who supports Ukraine under these circumstances and helps us shoot down “shaheds,” shoot down missiles, and stop Russian assaults. These are horrific photos, but behind them are shattered lives and the truth about this war. Lives must be protected. Ukraine needs air defense. You can't think about making money with Russia as long as it continues its asinine war. We ask that sanctions on Russia stay in place as long as the killings continue. We ask America to be strong, and we ask it to apply the Lindsey Graham law. We ask Europe to continue its support. We ask that everything possible be done to bring peace and guarantee security. Ukraine wants peace. It is Russia that has insisted on continuing the killing all this time. The world has enough strength to stop the war. That strength must finally be used – against the murderers.

Russian fake information is everywhere. Ukraine needs to blow up more data centres. AFP puts Ukraine 23rd in Europe for Bentley sales - they sold 20 across the whole country. The UK alone recorded 993 Bentley sales, according to the figures cited in the fact-check.

So it’s official: Reuters has confirmed that the White House gave the order to disrupt Starlink so Russia could attack Kyiv with no advanced warning. The US aided and abetted Putin’s killing of numerous civilians in Ukraine. Trump’s a traitor, a Russian asset who is using US military technology to help our enemy.

.@RachelReevesMP got absolutely pilloried but the figures present a different story. The employers NI is still a drag on employment rates
NEW UK GDP in August now up 0.7% on the 3 month measure… rises by 0.1% in the single month, defying expectation of a fallback after strong July. June also revised up. Heading for a decent Q3.
