Today is Fuel Poverty Awareness Day.
In East Suffolk, we are fighting fuel poverty through our Energy Advice Hub, providing support to help people who are struggling to pay their energy bills this winter.

New members urgently needed! So many people need the little lift we can give them. So far we have helped over 120 households edge away from despair & in all cases made them feel heard & valued. £1 a wk is all we ask. Dm for details &help us make a difference 🙏🏻
Another 19 donations made since mid Jan. 19!! 19 households that have been shown that they matter, often when hope had started to fade. Donations made possible by all the £1s given each week by members. It’s rewarding! Join us! 😃 @JoeSims10 thank you for this amazing idea! 🙏🏻
Some many struggling right now and Suffolk folk are no different. We’ve had some truly distressing nominations recently. If you have a connection to #Suffolk do consider adding your weekly £1 to the pot? #makingadifference #localgivingsupportinglocalpeople #justsimplekindness

It’s easy to be cynical but today I left my wallet at the gym and went back an hour later to find out someone had handed it in with all the cash and cards intact. Good people are legion! Cheers my #Bristol hero, whoever you are!

Just reading the latest email from @500Suffolk and the amazing things £1 a week can do for other people.
It's such a simple concept - 500 people give £1 a wk and then money is distributed to those who really need it because they haven't anywhere to turn.
Love supporting them
15 donations made in the last 9 weeks! Nominations that kept us awake at nights. So glad to have been able to make a difference. Especially poignant at Christmas One can feel so abandoned when it seems everyone else is having fun. It has been our privilege to lighten the loads.💛

So I agree @RichardRout @suffolkcc I can’t ‘so easily defend their corner’ but I wouldn’t have achieved this amazing career without the help of arts funding in Suffolk & I’d like to point out, my job does include working with vulnerable people, schools & dementia patients - vital – at Brentwood, East

Dear @missdianemorgan this is a v long shot but is there any chance you could record a message (or even better - a video) to say hello to my daughter Laura? She's a huge fan & life is pretty short on joy at the moment. Every smile we get now is so precious.
Thank you so much x

Many donations awarded recently inc supporting a youngster who has been selected for WUKF World Karate Champs in Dundee in July. The costs involved are A LOT! They had saved as much as they could, so we topped it up. The lad has worked so hard, it’s our privilege.

He’s wrong. Completely wrong. People starting on universal credit get nothing for five weeks and get into debt. Many never recover financially.
Deputy chairman of the Conservative Party Lee Anderson has said it is a "myth" that people on Universal Credit are in poverty trib.al/7gCAgb5
