Today felt like a community coming together as we celebrating our best ever results. Increases in A8, basics, EBACC, one third more disadvantaged scholars getting standard basics and 8 times as many SEND scholars getting strong basics. Well done!!!👏

My last results day with Woodfields, but an exciting one… some real turnarounds and some stellar performances in there. I can’t wait to celebrate with them and hear about their plans for the future. Support will be on hand, either for advice or to take a photo. Not long now!

All the very best David. You leave a great legacy behind you and huge shoes to fill. Take care, from me and everyone in the @Doncaster_SN team and in particular @GabbySampson6 who has worked so closely with school for the last few years. Take care

Very best wishes to @MrDavidScales as he takes up his new role. He has done what few leaders have managed: transforming a broken, inadequate school to 'Good' in 15 months. @AAWoodfields is totally unrecognisable. I will really miss David, but wish him every success and happiness.

Schools 'need funding to cope with heatwaves' bbc.in/4eQ10n6

Headteachers can take good decisions over uniform and passive cooling of buildings. Much of our school estate is 60s/70s and designed to keep heat in. As the climate warms and we experience more heatwaves, there will need to be aircon for the worst affected estates.

Huge thanks to Tony Armstrong who put together this board chronicling Oswin Avenue, Balby High, Woodfield High and Balby Carr and the late Ken Nadin, a firm but fair long serving head who left in 1996. His work is now commemorated outside our main hall. Thanks Tony!

Thanks so much to @joolsatkins and @sheduteach for the MOST incredible weekend @poetrybyheart in Shakespeare’s Globe. You MUST see Kenny and Victor’s performance in the finals. Knowing their journey and what got them here, the tears flowed. Sublime.
