BREAKING: US September PCE inflation, the Fed's preferred inflation metric, rises to 3.6%. Core PCE inflation also rose to 3.1%, up +0.3% month-over-month. This officially confirms that CPI, PPI, and PCE inflation are all rising again. A December rate hike is coming.

Crazy finding about $HYMC. At the multiple Newmont just paid for its neighbors' Nevada ounces, Hycroft's resource is a ~$7.4B number. The market pays $2B today. Estimate, not disclosure. But the number isn't the crazy part. The man is. Blake Rhodes. 25 years at Newmont. Ran strategic development, "overseeing mergers and acquisitions". Helped buy Goldcorp. Helped form Nevada Gold Mines. And here's the pattern nobody has mapped: Rhodes sits where transactions happen. Maverix Metals, 2018: he takes the board seat as Newmont's own nominee, months after Newmont sold Maverix a portfolio of 50 royalties. Two years later Maverix buys another $75M of royalties from Newmont, and Rhodes abstains from the vote "as a result of his interest in Newmont". That line is in the press release. 2023: Maverix itself gets acquired by Triple Flag. Rhodes moves to the buyer's board. Newmont converts its stake and walks away with $179M. May 2026: he joins Fancamp. A company mid-restructuring, spin-out already announced. September 1, 2026: he joins Hycroft. Three weeks after Newmont wired $1.95B to expand Nevada Gold Mines. Two of those stories already ended in deals. The other two just started. Is he Newmont's man today? No. Newmont sold its last equity link to his world in March 2023. He's something more interesting: a free agent who knows exactly how Newmont buys, sells and monetizes. The gap between $2B and $7.4B has three names: reserves, metallurgy, capex. Also, that's only including inferred ounces, as they drill, the price tag might increase heavily. The board they just hired has spent entire careers making problems like those change hands. I don't predict deals. I read resumes. I'm long $HYMC. This is not financial advice. Do your own research.
🚨 $HYMC JUST LOADED THE BOARD WITH HEAVYWEIGHTS 🚨 Ex-Newmont CEO. M&A firepower. Freeport. AngloGold. Sprott. 💥⛏️🥈 $220M CASH 💰 ZERO DEBT ✅ MASSIVE NEVADA GOLD + SILVER RESOURCE 🇺🇸🔥 You don’t build a board like this to stay small. BUILD IT. FUND IT. SCALE IT. 🌋💎 Something BIG is being prepared. 👀🔥🚀

This is a little more about Blake Rhodes, the insider who just bought some $HYMC. Kind of a big deal.

Warsh today: All bark. No bite. Still miles from its inflation target. The Fed is in the final stretch of this suicidal tightening cycle. The chart below shows where hawkish talk runs into fiscal reality. tavicosta.substack.com/p/top…

This paragraph by Kobe Bryant hits hard: “Everyone wants to be a beast. Everyone wants to be the best. But very few people are willing to do what it actually takes. Because what it takes is boring. It is waking up at 4:00 AM. It is shooting the same shot a thousand times. It is watching the film when you are tired. People fall in love with the result, but they hate the process. You have to fall in love with the boredom. You have to fall in love with the repetition. If you can find joy in the mundane work that no one else sees, the lights will eventually shine on you.”

⛏️ Silver miners just did something the metal hasn't managed all week. They bounced. $SIL, the big silver miners ETF, closed Friday at $74.06. Today it closed at $77.53. That's +4.7% in three sessions. Silver itself is down a hair over the same stretch, still parked near $54 and its lowest level since last November. One of these two is wrong about what comes next. I've learned to trust the miners when they break away like this. Prove me wrong. #Silver #MiningStocks Not financial advice.

This is why I left TD and Canadian banks.
I bank with RBC but keep most of my money in @Wealthsimple. Here's why: RBC Every Day Chequing: $4, no interest. RBC Savings account: 0.01% interest. On $10,000, that's $1/year. Wealthsimple Chequing: $0 fees, 2.25%, CDIC insured On that same $10,000, Wealthsimple pays roughly $225/year. RBC pays $1. That is 225x more. I don't understand why people still keep their cash in legacy banks.

The FED is cooked. They can no longer fight inflation. This is bullish for precious metals.
Q: There's been essentially no progress toward the 2% inflation target. Why not raise rates today? KEVIN WARSH: It's a good question (Note how he never answers it!)

Appreciate you adding that. A director putting about $50K of his own money into $HYMC on the open market the same day the stock clears its downtrend says a lot. Insiders sell for many reasons but buy for one.
