Imagine losing your mates and seeing their brains blown all over the front of your vehicle and then on the day you put on your modest paper poppy and medals, to pay your respects, you have to come home and see this kind of post telling you that the poppy you wore and bought to lay a wreath at their graves is “tacky and inappropriate for such a solemn occasion”. Upsetting.
I'm going to hazard a guess that the MLE accent is Young Bob's real accent and the poor attempt at RP accent that he currently has is one he has chosen to come across as more white, English, etc judging by his political views. He had to whitewash his own accent.

That white poppy thing is pseudo-intellectual garbage. Whilst some do use the red for ulterior motives, the reason the poppy is red is because poppies are red and it represents the fabled legend of poppies later growing on the battlefield-grave where thousands lost their lives.
