All you’ve done is threaten to plunge local councils into chaos, unless Green Party councillors deny that a racist political ideology is racist. Oh and cheap gherkins.
100 days ago, I promised to do things differently.
From cutting everyday costs to handing power back to communities, change is already underway.
But I know there’s much more to do - this is just the beginning.

Left: Page 30 of Labour’s antisemitism report says measured anti-Jewish attitudes are stable, while negative attitudes towards Israel are rising.
Right: The Guardian reports a woman at an Israeli election rally calling for Palestinians to be expelled from Gaza or killed if they refused to leave. She also claimed that Jordan, Lebanon and Syria belonged to Israelis.
Antisemitism, Islamophobia and every other form of hatred based on faith or identity are wrong and should be challenged at every turn.
A successful society is one where everyone can live freely, safely and in peace. That is the ultimate test of our humanity.
One person advocating the expulsion or killing of Palestinians does not represent every Israeli. But the devastation in Gaza—the destruction of homes and infrastructure, and the deaths of tens of thousands of Palestinians, including children—are the result of the actions and policies of Israel’s current government.
Criticism of the current Israeli government and its policies should not be confused with hostility towards Jewish people.
The UK government’s guidance says criticism of Israel similar to criticism of any other country cannot be regarded as antisemitic.
There is an important distinction between attitudes and incidents. The report says the anti-Jewish attitudes it measured are stable; that does not mean antisemitic incidents are not rising. Police-recorded religious hate crimes targeting both Jews and Muslims increased in England and Wales in the year ending March 2026. We should take all of those figures seriously.
A report focused on antisemitism has a legitimate reason to examine antisemitism in depth. But are we also giving enough attention to Islamophobia and other forms of hate, and to the wider pressures on social cohesion? If communities feel their safety and suffering are overlooked, that can deepen mistrust and feed a sense that some people’s rights matter less than others’.
Police-recorded religious hate crimes in England and Wales, year ending March 2026:
Anti-Jewish: 3,162
Anti-Muslim: 5,132
These numbers are far too high. We need to challenge hatred in all its forms, strengthen social cohesion, and build a society where every community is treated with equal care and dignity.
The report’s finding is that measured anti-Jewish attitudes are stable, while negative attitudes towards Israel are rising. Much of the criticism is directed at the current Israeli government and its actions in Gaza.
We must be able to say that clearly while challenging antisemitism, Islamophobia and every form of hatred—and working to keep all our communities safe.
And we should be proud that the majority of people in Britain reject racism, Islamophobia and antisemitism.
We must never allow the worst people in our society—the people who seek to divide us—to define who we are as a nation, a culture or a community.
We should stand together and keep every community safe and valued.
Shalom. As-salamu alaykum. Peace and goodwill to everyone.

Tom Watson spent years sabotaging Labour as deputy leader, then stepped away from politics, joined a gambling firm, apparently decided it wasn't evil enough for him and went to work for Palantir. Utterly vile.

You do realise that the poppy is not British, it is French.
It is worn by Brits to remember Armed Forces that died on the battlefields of France.
Despite the fields being bombed until they were nothing but mud, one flower amazingly started growing in those fields again, The Poppy

Ellie Chowns is right, saying zionism is racism is not antisemitic but conflating Jews with Israel is.
And conflating Jews with Israel is exactly what Tory peer Ed Vaizey did. And he did it deliberately to attack & smear political opponents.

I still think Matt Hancock and Boris Johnson should be prosecuted for their catastrophic handling of the Covid pandemic in the UK. What happened in care homes was simply outrageous. So many people had to die, when they could have been saved, if the policy had been different.

Richard Tice claims two police forces “are investigating ITV and their reporters for possible criminal offences against Reform UK”. The public record doesn’t support that.
Both forces have only confirmed they are assessing or reviewing complaints that Reform UK itself made, which is routine triage of any report and not a formal investigation.
He also merges the two forces into one story. The electoral allegations sit with Hampshire, while the Met’s matter reportedly doesn’t involve electoral offences at all.
The phrase “offences against Reform UK” is odd too, since the canvassing complaint is that ITV paid reporters to campaign for Reform, not against it.
Finally, “they will have to answer to the police, courts and Electoral Commission” presents outcomes as settled when nothing has been established and ITV denies wrongdoing.
The effect is to turn Reform’s own complaint into the appearance of police action, lending it an authority it hasn’t earned.
You cannot trust a word these increasingly desperate chancers say.
Two police forces, Met Police and Hampshire Police, are investigating ITV and their reporters for possible criminal offences against Reform UK
Scrutiny is fine, but journalists don’t get free pass to break the law
They will have to answer to the police, courts and Electoral Commission

What happened to the Native Americans is comparable to what is happening to the Palestinians
When the Americans ethnically cleansed and committed genocide against the Native Americans (who were living on the land they wanted for themselves) they claimed that their "Manifest Destiny" justified it
Now the Israelis ethnically cleanse and commit genocide against the Palestinians (who were living on the land they want for themselves) and claim that "the Bible" or "Zionism" justifies it
Back when the Americans were slaughtering the Native Americans there were plenty of shallow and cruel people in public life like @IainDale and @michaelgove cheering them on and seeking to curry favour with the genocidaires
Replying to @TomLondon6 @IainDale
Honest question: If Trump scattered Native Americans to the four corners of the globe to wander the earth, would they stop being the indigenous people of America?
