What contrasting landscapes we saw yesterday at different locations in #LakeDistrict.
First 2 pics taken by our scouts 🐺🏃 while on Helvellyn whilst the other two were shot in the Western Lakes - all within in 1 hour of the same morning!

Many (most!) conferences are being cancelled. Perhaps time for @ofcconference and other photonics/optics meetings to reconsider - even in solidarity to all those who can not attend. google.com/amp/s/www.zdnet.c…

Following last year's impressive event, I thought #qtshowcase19 really knocked it out of the park: startups exhibiting up 50%, attendees up again, much prototype progress - smaller/cheaper/faster. Well done to all exhibitors! @QCommHub @Sensors_QTHub @QuantIC_QTHub @NQIT_QTHub
Professor Sir Peter Knight, Chair of the UK National Quantum Technologies Programme, welcomes everyone to #qtshowcase19, describing the ‘enormous potential’ of these revolutionary new technologies.

Why so coy @uklabour? Why not throw in free SkyTV? Free iphones? Netflix and x-boxes all round?
The more fantastical their ‘promises’, the less credible they become.
Honoured to have presented quantum communications to HRH Princess Anne during her visit to @adastralpark @BTGroup
