To the Samsung Note 9 owner in Houston who stole almost $500 from my account with @Zelle: 1) I would have GLADLY given it to you; next time, ASK! 2) Call: I can get you enrolled in a Master’s program, because CLEARLY you have skills! Hopefully @Ally will get this resolved SOON!

Incredible 🧵
In 1807, Omar ibn Said, a Muslim scholar, was stolen from Senegal & sold into slavery in America. He left behind an autobiography written in Arabic.
To mark the International Day for the Remembrance of the Slave Trade & its Abolition, a thread on the remarkable story of Omar…
My FAVORITE Jesus has always been “table-flipping Jesus!” As a Black woman of faith who studies philanthropy, I fully understand what Jesus was conveying: if we aren’t diligent, money can be used as a weapon against people committed to justice work! This🧵 illustrates that!
Every time I post about justice, inclusion or equality through the lens of Jesus, angry people comment that I only do it for the money. But I’ve actually lost quite a bit for speaking out. So let me tell y’all how money actually works in white evangelicalism. a (long) thread…
“Even I deserve this. I am a human deserving of joy, and belief that I am sacred. I deserve rest. I deserve goodness. I deserve abundance. I deserve to learn (finally!) how to be present.” 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
I'm always a fan of people who remind us that our worth is not in our doing, but our being. Today Catherine Andrews is doing that for me as she take the next month off mailchi.mp/7c71f96f436c/this…

“Because you never know who might swing through!” And then he wonders why I’m always cooking for 20: because that’s how y’all raised me!
My dad acts like it’s 50-60 people here to eat…..lol it’s only 4

THANK YOU, @mybearaby, for giving me the option to “opt-out” of Mother’s Day messages: this season is particularly tender for so many of us, and I WISH more retailers would pick up this practice! #YouDEFINITELYJustEarnedALoyalCustomer

Those who learned to survive on crumbs may feel anxious when a feast arrives. Breathe. You’re worthy. You can take your seat at the table instead of standing at the door in survival mode.

It was an honor and a privilege to help kick-off the @NDAlumni Leadership Conference with over 300 dynamic, inspirational Club leaders form around the world! #AALC #TenderStrongTrueLeaders #LivingWithPurposeAndOnPurpose #MeaningfulLife
For the first time since 2019, we were able to host our Leadership Conference in person! I'm so thankful to our club, class, and group volunteer leaders that came to campus from all over the country and the globe to learn, celebrate, and connect with the Notre Dame family.

2+ years into a Global Grounding, where it feels like I’ve done equal parts teaching and providing pastoral care and counseling to graduate students, my students know they don’t have to ask: I freely give grace, along with lots of love and an overabundance of understanding!
Never be afraid to ask for some love and understanding
Anyone else suddenly feeling incredibly old right now?!?! 😱😱😱

Daylight Savings Time AND the first day of teaching grad students after Spring Break?!?!
It's Monday once again. Describe your mood with a Law & Order GIF.
Learning to savor these moments…revel in these moments…get comfortable in these moments…not take these moments for granted!
May you not overlook the moments where your life reflects your dreams. Don’t hurry past it. Breathe it in. Taste it. This is what answered prayers feel like. And so it is.

An alumna just sent this to me with this note: “I saw this on Twitter this morning and immediately thought of you! Thank you for always giving us grace inside and outside of the classroom! I’ll forever be grateful to have been a student of yours 💕” Don’t mind me while I go weep!
A hopefully uncontroversial, non-hot take: Giving your students grace when the world is falling apart doesn't make you a less rigorous or effective teacher, it makes you human.
“The doors of the church are open: is there one?” 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
Lord, one day let me be as articulate about my faith as this man
