Texas Republicans are trying to force public schools to display the Ten Commandments in every classroom.
I told the bill author: “This bill is not only un-constitutional and un-American, it’s deeply un-Christian.” #txlege

Those with #ADHD know how it feels to struggle with basic habits that seem “easy” to other people 😞
ALT Title: “ADHD Struggles Ranked” Hand-drawn bar chart. X axis: Difficulty Y axis: Task Tasks listed: Falling asleep by a “decent” time Remembering what I was saying Grocery shopping consistently Folding and putting away clothes Emptying the backseat/trunk of my car Answering a text or email properly Starting projects Finishing projects with no external deadlines (bar is so large it runs off the page)

From a former teacher in GCISD: "When there's fear, teachers do less. Rigor drops. ... AP Classes in the year that I left were not what AP classes were when I began." These are the consequences of a pro-censorship school board takeover. Get out and vote, Texas.
Thank you to @AmandaAGuthrie for sharing your story. So many parents can now KNOW the truth! Teachers ARE afraid! youtu.be/5kk-7WX4Z_8 It's time to VOTE parents! We can #TakeBackGCISD & fix policy changes
Experiencing this in real-time at my kid’s school. It’s not about my rights as a parent. It’s only about theirs. Every other parent be damned.
🎯, @jbouie:
“‘Parents’ rights,’ in other words, is when some parents have the right to dominate all the others. And, of course, the point … [is to advance] policies that siphon funds and resources from public institutions & pump them into private ones.” nytimes.com/2023/03/28/opini…

I can’t really explain why I can’t do the thing, I just… can’t do the thing.
