For the Greens, politics is theatre. An opportunity to stake out the most ideologically extreme position and then berate those who refuse to join them. We know the Greens don’t care about Jews, but October 7 saw the armed forces of the government of Gaza behead a Thai worker with a shovel, bludgeon an African student to death and abduct dozens of foreign nationals. Hundreds of Gazan civilians joined in the frenzy of looting, torture and murder. Thousands more lined the streets to mutilate corpses in celebration and abuse and spit on captives. Now the Greens want to recognise this entity as a state. All they have achieved is showing once again how hateful their ideology is and why the major parties should both pledge to preference this despicable party last.

A critical element of a 2-state solution is the ability to deter terrorists, sheltering in a Palestinian state planning to attack. But this war has shown that should Israel respond to such an attack, they will be condemned and prosecuted. Hence 2-state remains unattainable.

Last night in front of an angry mob outside our community memorial ceremony for fallen soldiers and victims of terror, convicted criminal, Hamas apologist and APAN President Nasser Mashni, called Australia and Israel "shithole, racist, settler colonies," and perpetuated the false racist blood-libel that Israelis have higher skin cancer rates because they’re not indigenous.
1) The Australia which he calls a "shithole," allowed this man with convictions for kidnap, violence and threatening behaviour, to build a property business, lobby the Foreign Minister, become a major donor to the Greens party and be a regular spokesperson on national television. Talk about lack of gratitude.
2) Let's be clear: Israel excels in happiness, tech innovation, and economic growth. Not skin cancer. Stop getting your facts from the Hamas Ministry of Health 🤡
