A real honor to have top billing for two separate stories on @WIRED's homepage two days in a row. This current iteration of WIRED is just killing it, with some of the best reporting on AI, labor, security, and tech culture going. Very happy to join the party for a couple days

Research Paper ‘Automated Approach to Auditing Disclosure of Third-Party Data Collection in Website Privacy Policies’ <‘over 200,000 websites’ privacy policies are audited’ timlibert.me/pdf/Libert-2018… & yep, website privacy policies, choice and control suck.

That's a wrap on @FintechMeetup 2024! Here were some of our major highlights: ✨ Our CBO, Art Levy, give a keynote on the future of Brex & GenAI in financial services. ✨ Our Head of Startups, @jasonmok, spoke on a panel re: modernizing the CFO suite. ✨ We hosted an investor & founder happy hour with over 100 attendees, as well as two days of office hours for ecosystem partners, founders, & prospective customers. Overall, we left feeling excited and inspired about what's to come in the industry we're so proud to be a part of. Looking forward to next time!

Biden should be ashamed of making this deal. Tax cheating mostly benefits business owners and the wealthy who can manipulate their income. Cheating can only be found through labor-intensive auditing.
What's most shocking about the likely deal to prevent US sovereign default is the IRS funding cut that Republicans insisted on. It gives the game away. They threaten their nation on behalf of not taxing the super rich. It's as simple as that.

Issue 24 of the newsletter touches briefly on the a16z "State of Crypto" report, the FTX first interim report, and the bizarre story of the now paused, possibly permanently shuttered Paxful crypto marketplace — which involves waving AR-15s from balconies. newsletter.mollywhite.net/p/…

FDIC has ALWAYS been the most serious bank regulator, both where authority is concerned (over all insured banks) and where specific role is concerned (capital regulation). Precisely because it's the trustee of the Deposit Insurance Fund. Removing caps will ENHANCE this status.

What are your thoughts on shifting more authority to the FDIC? mattstoller.substack.com/p/f…

A fine Presidential platform could be constructed of three simple and easily-explained and -advocated expedients: (1) Medicare for All. (2) Above-Poverty-Line Minimum Wage. (3) Risk-Priced Federal Deposit Insurance w/ No Coverage Caps. Done.

WaPo wants more trade deals, circa 1995. We've seen this movie before, several times. Pure failure: deindustrialization, income inequality, ceding national security. The free trade globalists never give up. TPP is a China trans-shipment import agmt. washingtonpost.com/opinions/…

Most of your comments are methodologies to eliminate older folks. You have a problem with diversity and acceptance. Older people are great workers.
