But but Netzero.... nature? Climate ... Yeh They do NOT CARE about nature They only care about money and a Control! ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿผ ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿผ ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿผ "Different Prime Minister, same old Labour. The controversial National Grid Sea Link project has been approved. A 138km electricity link will run between Suffolk and Thanet. 90,000 square metres of pristine landscape at Minster Marshes will be destroyed, while heavy industrial drilling and trenching will cut directly through Pegwell Bay. The Sandwich and Pegwell Bay National Nature Reserve is highly protected - it is an active SSSI, RAMSAR, and SAC site. The project will mean the permanent loss of critical wetlands, disruption to ancient marsh drainage systems, and severe visual scarring of the landscape. The area forms a critical corridor along the East Atlantic Flyway - a migratory highway used by millions of birds annually. Even minor human presence on the mudflats disturbs the birds, forcing them to waste vital energy. Campaign group Save Minster Marshes identifies 37 UK Red-List species that rely on this specific floodplain to nest, feed, and breed. Energy minister Baroness Margaret Curran signed off the project, despite acknowledging Sea Link will cause โ€œlasting landscape and visual harm.โ€ Even the Tories are against it. Local MP Sir Roger Gale stated: "This is an appalling decision โ€“ the Secretary of State has committed an act of environmental vandalism based upon misrepresented business case figures and her decision is going to have to be the subject of legal challenge." Follow Save Minster Marshes campaign to stay up to date." Credit Protect the Wild

The worst thing about the modern world is that people youโ€™ve known for years can just cut ties without telling you why and block you so you never hear from them again. Itโ€™s brutal and wrong but apparently widely practiced.

Heartbroken. After 4 years of campaigning to protect our beautiful coastline and countryside, the government has given the Sea Link project the green light. Devastated for our local environment and habitats, but so proud of our community's fight. #SaveMinsterMarshes

๐Ÿ’ฅ SADLY ROCKET IS STILL LOOKING FOR A NEW HOME๐Ÿ’ฅ Rocket is looking for a new home as her owners were very sadly killed in an accident. She has lived on a farm all her life & known only very briefly what it was like to go indoors. She has recently been in a home environment & been an impeccable guest, only a couple of wee accidents but she soon learned where to go to ask to be let outside. Rocket has lived with other dogs but she would like to be the only dog in her new home. She would be an ideal dog for an elderly couple/singleton who would like a lovely, loyal, little companion. She has also lived around horses without issue. Rocket is healthy, her teeth are clean, she is good in the car, was smashing on her assessment in public areas, & is now just waiting to be loved for the rest of her days. ๐Ÿ™ Please contact her rescue for a chat if you would like to adopt Rocket - she is waiting. This is pure evil. Iโ€™m surprised anyone in this government has time to talk since their tounge seems to be permanently planted on the home builders federationโ€™s boots. It will be the poorest communities that will suffer the most from losing nature under this exemption ๐Ÿ˜ก
The chancellor will exempt brownfield residential development sites of up to 1.5 hectares from the need to deliver biodiversity gains, he said in the autumn budget. planningresource.co.uk/articโ€ฆ

Note to all Judges: Stabbing a girl 10 times is not โ€˜mischiefโ€™. Itโ€™s serious violence. (We should not have to point this out). Yet another case where a Judge is apparently more focused on the wellbeing of the violent male youth, than the brutalised girl. We agree with her mother. This derisory sentence is indeed disgraceful. Q. What sort of message does this send out to young girls- and for that matter, young boys too? A. That young girls matter less than young boys. Even stabbed young girls. telegraph.co.uk/news/2026/10โ€ฆ

This is disgraceful. We should withhold our taxes until central and local governments represent those who pay them. No wonder nothing works when city councils are wasting time on pointless posturing.

This paper answers why confident idiots run the world. Cornell University published a psychological paper that explains every terrible boss, every loud influencer, and every broken corporate hierarchy. Itโ€™s called โ€œUnskilled and Unaware of It.โ€ they tested participants across logic, grammar, and humor to measure the gap between actual performance and self-perception. And the results are wild. participants scoring in the bottom 12th percentile consistently believed they were operating in the 62nd percentile. they were not lying. they were literally incapable of recognizing their own incompetence. the paper revealed a brutal paradox: the exact skills required to master a domain are the exact same skills required to accurately evaluate your own competence in that domain. if you lack the skill, you inherently lack the cognitive capacity to realize you are failing. this creates a dangerous systemic loop. the incompetent are blessed with absolute, blinding certainty. their brain protects them from their own ignorance, allowing them to speak first, demand authority, and never second-guess their decisions. meanwhile, the actual experts suffer the exact inverse. top performers in the study consistently underestimated their rank. because a task was easy for them, they falsely assumed it was easy for everyone else. they hesitate. they obsess over nuance. they assume they have nothing unique to add. we are biologically wired to confuse confidence with competence. the loudest person in the room gets promoted, gets funded, and gets the microphone, not because they know what they are doing, but because they are physically incapable of seeing what they don't. the only defense mechanism is building systems that stop rewarding absolute certainty and start demanding proof of work.

An oldie but a goodie. In 1968 a bunch of entitled hippy bastards sent a letter detailing their specious demands to the Warden and Fellows of Wadham College, Oxford. This was their letter of reply, which speaks to how far the academy has since fallen.

Nonsense. To suggest that badgers have 'mainly caused' a 97% decline in hedgehogs is a ridiculous assertion. Clearly and obviously the primary reason for their decline is human-driven destruction of habitat.
The decline of the hedgehog is mainly caused by the huge recent expansion of the badger population. In both time and place there is a strong negative correlation between badger numbers and hedgehog numbers. The scientific evidence that an increase in Mr Brock may well be the chief cause of Mrs Tiggywinkleโ€™s demise is overwhelming. Thereโ€™s the direct evidence โ€“ the hollowed-out prickle-bearing skins left behind after a badger eats a hedgehog. Only badgers can open a hedgehog after it rolls up in defence with prickles on the outside. Foxes and dogs cannot. Badger predation is often found to be the main cause of hedgehog death in studies in this country. Thereโ€™s the timing evidence. The decline in hedgehogs coincided with the rise in badgers since the latterโ€™s protection began in the 1970s and was strengthened in the 1990s. Anecdotally, there are clear-cut cases to show this is likely to be cause and effect, not coincidence. Kew Gardens had a thriving hedgehog population until the mid 1980s when badgers first arrived there. Today, says the Royal Botanic Gardensโ€™ website, โ€œKew is teeming with badgersโ€. There are now more than 20 badger setts and hedgehogs are hardly ever seen, and if they are donโ€™t last long. Habitat change and development cannot be the cause in Kew, because there has not been any. Thereโ€™s the spatial evidence. Throughout England hedgehogs (great worm eaters) have vanished from worm-rich pastureland, where badgers thrive, and cling on only in suburban gardens and amenity grassland, where badgers so far have not penetrated much. Even here, as one study put it: โ€œthe probability of hedgehog occurrence in suburban habitats declined towards zero in areas of high badger density.โ€ As a general rule, wherever badgers are present at a density higher than about one main sett every four square kilometres, hedgehogs are absent. In most of rural England, sett density is two or three times higher. Thereโ€™s the behavioural evidence. Back in the 1990s, ecologists discovered that the smell of badgers alone is enough to deter hedgehogs from entering an area. And hedgehogs released into areas of excellent habitat high-tailed it out of there if they smelt badger. They do not wait to be eaten. Thereโ€™s the international evidence. Sweden has also blamed its decline in hedgehogs on rising badger numbers. In the Netherlands, scientists reported this yearthat hedgehogs are now confined mostly to urban areas, despite roads and development, because of the spread of badgers in rural areas. Thereโ€™s the experimental evidence, which is the clincher. The randomized badger control trials, carried out between 1998 and 2006 in 30 different parts of the country, provided an opportunity to see what happened to hedgehog numbers if badger numbers were reduced. In pasture land, where hedgehogs are mostly extinct, there was of course little effect. But in โ€œamenity grasslandโ€ โ€“ parks, lawns, gardens, playing fields etc โ€“ there was a dramatic explosion in hedgehog numbers in those areas where badgers were culled: hedgehog density almost trebledfrom an average of 0.9 per hectare to 2.4 per hectare in just five years. By contrast in the control areas where no badgers were culled, the hedgehog density remained unchanged at 0.3 per hectare over the same period.ย  So we know one way to increase hedgehog numbers: reduce badger numbers. No other approach has been demonstrated to have such an effect. Given that badgers are highly effective predators of bumble bees (those who try to study bumble bees complain that most of the nests they find get dug out and eaten by badgers) as well as of ground nesting birds, and that they carry bovine tuberculosis, there is little doubt that lower badger densities would be good for the ecology of the British countryside as well as for farming. There is nothing natural about the density at which badgers and foxes live in Britain today.
