Big moment for @UKLabour to honour on their commitments to farming and food production. Words are easy - actions count 🙏👇
🚨The Prime Minister @Keir_Starmer was absolutely right that ‘Losing a farm is not like losing any other business. It can’t come back’. Which is why @RachelReevesMP must be clear that there will be no changes to APR, as pledged by @SteveReedMP.

Replying to @NFUtweets
@NFUtweets rightly headlining mental health concerns re the impact of misinformation re upcoming bTB broadcast. Follows on from a misleading ‘Megafarm’ article with wrong stats, interviewees wrongly stating UK farmers use growth hormones. Good to push for facts and balance
(1/5) NFU President Tom Bradshaw (@ProagriLtd) has written to the BBC to express deep concern about a documentary due to be shown on BBC2 on bovine TB, highlighting the effect it will have on the mental health of farmers who are still impacted by this terrible disease on farm.

Everyone needs to make a living in a supply chain to make it sustainable. Insecure finances are a key driver chronic stress ill health on farm. Wider societal health needs healthy unprocessed food accessible to all consumer incomes. Food is too valuable to get wrong like this
Incredible that farmers working 70-80hrs/week are being forced on to Universal Credit with the loss of BPS payments - yet are being told they need to find additional work to qualify. @Mark_Spencer @ProagriLtd @DrNeilHudson @BarryGardiner bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m001xd…

Bovine TB has been allowed to decimate farming families mentally and financially in NI. I’m no expert on the evidence for the many steps needed to eradicate it (I’ll leave that to the vets) but I am glad to see human health put first in this @DefraGovUK statement
What a powerful Ministerial Statement from @SteveBarclay in the latest @defra consultation acknowledging the impact farmer led (and funded) policy has had on levels of TB in England. @theBCVA @1GarethWynJones @Evsthetractor @HefinR

Do you not eat @MarkAvery ? In the eyes of the public the second most respected occupation in the UK is being a farmer…the first is being a nurse. Perhaps 2024 you could start to share the love….😘

Life has thrown a lot at me over the past few years with some experiences I never want repeated. I’ve been hurt by the behaviour of some people but strengthened by the kindness of others. My thanks for your support as I enter 2024 wiser and happier. Wishing you well. Dx
