there’s a music pavilion in Cleveland on the Cuyahoga River and I was seeing a show there (Jason Isbell with my mom) and a freighter sailed past literally 20’ behind the stage. Was so cool.

Mr Brightside is being replaced with a call to prayer. Remember to orient yourself towards the northeast endzone to directionally face Mecca

I work for an employee owned grain elevator. We do not offer basis contracts. We are very conservative with our offerings. It is our opinion if you need to ship grain it should be contracted before delivery or spot sold. Works for us!

my first elevator job in IL was a sub $3.50 corn year. Lots of bu put on fall basis contracts. Price never moved up. Suddenly many grumpy farmers with -80N basis contracts in the summer while the spot bid for corn was -10.

basis contracts never cover any downside risk. As an alternative I would encourage my farmer customers to price out buying calls. Sets a floor and leaves you open to upside. Basis contracts have no downside price protection.
