It is a mystery why only the UK side of the North Sea is a declining basin while the Norwegians keep finding more and more oil and gas on their side of the North Sea. 🤔 Could this possibly be caused by our ban on new exploration?
Backing new licenses won’t save jobs in a declining, mature basin, but it will put a wrecking ball through climate credibility. Employment in Scotland supported by the oil and gas sector fell by a third since 2014 - despite hundreds of new licenses being awarded.

An Observer editorial repeated the claim that Brexit cost 8% of UK GDP, put at £224Bn or about £4.3Bn a week. The report called such claims demonstrably wrong, citing official ONS & Eurostat data. (15/10/26) x.10101.uk/c.php?u=https%3A%…

EU re set will cost UK taxpayers more money, put up energy costs, burden businesses with needless extra rules, slash UK university income from EU students, give away fish we could land and invite in many more young people needing homes and jobs. Why do any of that?

For once Brussels Marcos is right. @andyburnham & @UKLabour are going to hand control back to the eu & pay them £bn's..
🇪🇺Wasn’t the EU dead? The EU is entering its biggest enlargement process in decades. Montenegro, Albania, Moldova and Ukraine aim to conclude accession negotiations before 2030. Together, they would add roughly $300 billion in GDP to the Union. Now Britain is moving closer, too. Nearly 60% of Britons support rejoining. The November EU–UK summit will take negotiations on closer ties forward. The EU won’t just survive. It will expand and unite. renaissanceeurope.org/insigh…

The imbeciles at @euromove really are trying to obfuscate, as this is about the control of the @EU_Commission with its directives & laws that they can impose on manufactures, which will cost them a lot of money to implement. But @andyburnham & @UKLabour know this, and when they sign off, the UK will be a rule-taker & be pay them £bn's for nothing..
“I think you should get a life.” Angela Eagle has little patience for questions about smoky bacon crisps when there's a much bigger prize at stake: removing barriers to trade with Europe, supporting British farmers and growing our economy.

If this is true, then the UK would lose an industry worth £28 billion, to slightly lower the import costs of UK supermarkets, including the privately owned German ones that operate in the UK. 🤔 The UK's entire food and animal exports to the EU were only worth £12 billion in 2025. Why are we throwing good money after bad? 🙄
What is now being briefed on the UK-EU SPS agreement is that the UK didn't achieve any carve outs on gene editing. The EU merely agreed the UK could transition towards the EU's more restrictive approach to gene editing which is due to be implemented in July 2028.

Is this a joke? The EU wants the UK to put tariffs on Chinese EVs and Steel in the Reset agreement using WTO GATT rules, but it also wants the UK to dynamically align with its's SPS rules which are against the WTO's CODEX rules. Talk about cherry-picking! catherinemcbride.substack.co…
No cherry-picking. No special treatment. The door is open. This time, it’s meant for coming in, not walking out. There is so much to do together to face global challenges🇪🇺🇬🇧 #Brexit

China threatens the eu with retaliation as eu discusses kill switch to defend its market @andyburnham is going to bring the UK into a dispute with China over his pursuit of jumping back into bed with the eu, while he sneaks out the back door to climb into bed with China. The PG Tips Chimps would do a better job of governing the UK than this @uklabour govt, without selling the UK out. euronews.com/2026/11/05/chin…

"It's fine by me" says Sangria Sue, as she lives permanently in Spain, and she won't have to pick up the pieces from the fallout, nor will she have to pay additional taxes to pay for this disaster that she is trying to foist onto Brits who still do live here, a bit like @andyburnham & @uklabour.
UK can rejoin EU without adopting Euro — but only on one condition, Barnier says - Freedom of Movement is "not negotiable". Fine by me - in fact, its one of the main benefits as far as I'm concerned, so what are we waiting for? independent.co.uk/news/uk/po…

Sangria Sue, showing how bonkers she is. The UK's infrastructure & services are under extreme strain now, so if you go by Sue's logic, what she is demanding is for the UK to open up to citizens from 27 nations (wait until further Eastern European enlargement) and increase that strain, and then the UK can give to those who enter welfare and increase pressure even further on the welfare budget. Don't be like the lefty, Sangria Sue in Spain or @andyburnham @uklabour MPs who are determined to wreck the UK economically, and make the UK a rule-taker from an autocratic organisation based in Brussels, @EU_Commission.

EU reset: joking apart, what ‘smoky-bacon-crisps-gate’ shows is that EU rules will override ours. We will have no say in them & any disputes will be decided by EU courts.
After the news smoky bacon crisps could fall foul of EU rules, environment secretary Angela Eagle tells @StigAbell to “get a life” when asked if she would be willing to sacrifice the flavour. “This is actually about ensuring that we can do business with our closest neighbours.”

Passport queues are down to EES not working as it's beset with IT issues, and there were never enough border force staff to bring in to deal with the issues of queues, you halfwits..
Broken promises, barriers for businesses and longer queues at passport control. Rachel Taylor says constituents who voted Leave are telling her they made a mistake. Whatever we voted in 2016, we deserve an honest conversation about a better European future.

Daisy, proving once more how thick the left are. Maybe they should stop kissing the ring piece of ANY @uklabour PM, first @Keir_Starmer, then @andyburnham, and then the @EU_Commission. A bit of brown on your noses Lib Dem europhile f*ck wits..
🧵 This is another hammer blow to families already struggling with living costs. The unfair mortgage hit awaiting millions has Trump’s name all over it. His reckless Iran war, backed by the Tories and Reform UK, sent energy prices soaring. Now it's pushing up mortgage bills.

Everything @andyburnham has said, has been a lie, especially to the people of #Makerfield when he campaigned to become their MP. Now, as the anointed @uklabour PM, Burnham has continued to lie about his @EU_Commission reset, aka betrayal. At least @MichelBarnier was honest (to a degree), the UK must accept "Freedom of Movement" in full. The UK must also hand over £bn's to the eu, the UK must be a rule-taker to the eu and not cause an issues, the UK must not deport any European illegals or foreign criminals. The PG Tips Chimps could manage the UK better, without selling out the UK to the eu..
A draft statement prepared by the EU ahead of the key reset summit with the UK in Brussels this month has revealed the bloc’s demands, as Andy Burnham sets his sights on a closer relationship Read more: independent.co.uk/news/uk/ho…

I genuinely dont know what this labour government have done for those of us in the middle with mortgages..we are literally being RINSED. Taxed every which way. Food expensive Bills through the roof Fuel astronimical Income tax Council tax How much money do these people think we have? We're already stretched to the limit with literally everything! Mark, the europhile, loves to post utter nonsense to his europhile echo chamber. However, when he is called out, he never responds- just another moron..
Many spurious objections to EU dreamed up in UK don't occur much elsewhere. It is mostly seen as obvious that removing trade barriers benefits the whole economy and that food safety rules are common sense, so best to make them the same everywhere to cut border red tape.
