Your freedom arrives as an unalienable gift from your Creator, not a grant of privilege from your government.
This Banksy, which appeared overnight on the side of the Royal Courts of Justice building in London, is extremely powerful.

Bombshell story from @nytimes: It turns out that "Decoy" Dan Sullivan was found and recruited to confuse Alaskan voters. Found and recruited by who? According to the Times, Democrat candidate Mary Peltola working with Chuck Schumer. @AGIowa led a brief to stop the confusion.

Stop what you’re doing, grab a coffee, put your feet up and LISTEN. Spend 10 minutes of your life to begin with a joke and end with HOPE. Meet Noah Eckstein. If anyone ever tells you that wisdom only arrives once you’ve lived your life THINK AGAIN. I want you to watch this commencement address to the class of 2026 at Harvard University, from the grandson of a Muslim and a Jew who fled the Holocaust. No teleprompter, no notes, just a speech from the heart that EVERY politician who would seek to divide us would do well to learn from. It’s profound in so many ways, but as an old man, Noah reminds me that there is still hope if we just learn to LISTEN. 🎥 TikTok - vm.tiktok.com/ZGdCTq6KK/

Do not be caught up in the pleasures or fears of this life; glorify Him in all your words, and all your deeds, for all your days and your life He will make full, now and forever.
“Oh how great is thy goodness, which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee; which thou hast wrought for them that trust in thee before the sons of men!” - Psalm 31:19

Austin taxpayers paid another $32,500 to an NGO, which teaches kids: - "White Supremacy" - "Racial Capitalism: The Economic System at the Root of it All" - "Foundations of Collectivism" - “How the occupation of Palestine [is] a climate justice issue” - "Imperialism, Colonialism, and the Global Struggle for Liberation" The city's Equity Office gave the group, Start:Empowerment, $30,000 for "displacement prevention." The year before, the group took in $362,590, spent $225,898, and ended the year with $261,234 in net assets. Its successor, Land Justice Community School, now publishes the lessons. Then in September, the city's Economic Development department sent Land Justice another $2,500 for some reason.

Really insightful point about how many people, particularly on the left, make political activism their identity. Instead of religious faith, they have politics.
Perhaps the reason so many people are holding on to political “activist” identities is that they are afraid to go back to just being them. Just a plain person. @ClubRandom_ @billmaher

These statistics should alarm the Church: 53% of American evangelicals say most people are basically good. 53% say the Holy Spirit is a force rather than a personal being. 47% say God accepts the worship of other religions. This is why doctrine matters. We don't need less theology in our churches. We desperately need better theology.

If you would, please pray. 🙏🏻
This is a hard post for me. I never like to ask for help for myself. But I'm going to ask for prayers. I have been diagnosed with cancer. Any prayers would be appreciated.

Powerful ... “'I don’t feel You right now, but I’m here.' That sentence is not weak faith. That is faith in its purest form ...' See below.
How do you get closer to God when you feel absolutely nothing? Most people assume closeness to God is supposed to feel like something. Warmth in your chest. Tears in worship. A sense that He’s right there in the room. So when you pray and the room stays quiet, when you open your Bible and the words just sit on the page, the conclusion comes fast: something is wrong with me, or He’s gone. Neither is true. But almost nobody tells you that, so people quietly drift away during the exact season God is doing some of His deepest work in them. Look at who felt this before you. David wrote, “How long, O Lord? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me?” Psalm 13:1. That’s not a backslider talking. That’s a man God called a man after His own heart. Jesus Himself, on the cross, prayed the words of Psalm 22:1: “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” Feeling far from God is not proof that you are far from God. It is one of the most human experiences in the entire Bible. And notice where God actually showed up for Elijah. Not in the wind that broke the rocks. Not in the earthquake. Not in the fire. After all of that came a low whisper, 1 Kings 19:11-12. Sometimes the reason we feel nothing is that we’re waiting for the earthquake, and God is speaking in the whisper. So here’s the honest answer: you get closer to God the same way you get closer to anyone. You keep showing up when it isn’t exciting. “Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you,” James 4:8. The promise isn’t that you’ll feel Him draw near. It’s that He will. Your feelings are weather. His faithfulness is the climate. “His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning,” Lamentations 3:22-23. Try this tonight. Don’t perform. Don’t try to manufacture a feeling. Sit down, open to one psalm, read it slowly, and then tell God the truth: “I don’t feel You right now, but I’m here.” That sentence is not weak faith. That is faith in its purest form, trust with nothing propping it up. You may feel nothing tonight. Come back tomorrow anyway. One day you’ll look back on this quiet stretch and realize He never left the room. He was teaching you to love Him for who He is, not for how He makes you feel.

Friedrich Nietzsche warned that those who cry out about how hard their life is, angling for sympathy, are not helpless at all. They are seeking dominance by means other than strength.

What are you giving up, by refusing to give up these present shiny things?
Jesus offered the "rich young ruler" the greatest deal of all-time... and he said NO. This man had no idea what he lost in that moment. Don't let that be you. Don't waste your life.

Freedom is a dangerous thing, but not the most dangerous; any government, with a monopoly on power, is the most dangerous.

The holiness of God was his gift to Israel. God dwelt among his people and shared his holiness with them. But that holiness was to be approached only in the ways God himself prescribed. God’s holiness was good, but it was also dangerous, even lethal. Uzzah discovered this in an unforgettable way in 2 Samuel 6, which we read today in Bible in One Year. David was transporting the ark of the covenant to Jerusalem. But from the beginning, things were not being done according to God’s Word. The ark was placed on a cart rather than being carried by the Levites with poles, as God had commanded. Then the oxen stumbled. Uzzah reached out his hand to steady the ark, touched this most holy object, and died on the spot (2 Sam. 6:6–7). This can seem shocking to us, but it underscores a fundamental truth about God. You don’t get to trifle with the holiness of God. You don’t get to approach the Holy One however you please. God himself determines how sinners may enter his holy presence. Think of fire. Fire can warm your home, cook your food, and keep you alive on a freezing night. But walk into a house that is a blazing inferno and things will not end well for you. The problem is not that fire is evil. The problem is that you have encountered its power in a way that destroys rather than benefits you. So it is with the holiness of God. In Christ, God has given us the way to approach his holiness safely and salvifically. That way is not our goodness, sincerity, or self-devised religions or spirituality. That way is Jesus. He is the Word who became flesh and “dwelt,” literally tabernacled, among us (John 1:14). In Baptism, we are united to him, grafted into his most holy body. His holiness does not consume us. It becomes ours. We are washed, sanctified, and made holy by the Spirit as a gift from the Father. God is still “holy, holy, holy.” His holiness has not changed. But in Christ, and only in Christ, that holiness is beneficial and salvific for us. Apart from Christ, sinners stand before a consuming, destroying fire. In Christ, the Holy One gives himself to us, joins us to himself, and makes us partakers of his own holiness.

Society has lost its ability to feel shame, and it starts in institutions where it is somehow more noble to be a coward than to stand up to what is wrong and vile. @CarnegieMellon can still do what is right, or it can fail to act -- fail its students, their parents, and their alumni -- and show itself to be more concerned with feeling good than doing good.
Imagine being a white student at @CarnegieMellon… You’re already a minority on campus. You’re enjoying a bright fall day, and your phone suddenly starts blowing up with the story of a tenured professor who took to social media to wish death on a white man for simply being white. But that’s not where the story ends… After Uju Anya’s hateful, racist post went viral, she doubled down and dared the administration to take action against her, knowing full well it wouldn’t. She was right. 45 days later and she’s back on X and still bragging that she’s untouchable.
