“[Independence Day] ought to be solemnized with Pomp and Parade, with Shews, Games, Sports, Guns, Bells, Bonfires and Illuminations from one End of this Continent to the other from this Time forward forever more.” —John Adams
I'm sure our Founding Fathers would be very proud to know our president celebrated the 250th birthday of our nation with - (checks notes) - a cage fight on the White House's lawn. Someday people will look back and shake their heads asking "what happened to the US back then?"

He may not be able to make the Ferrari Luce look cool, but Tom Selleck did a great job narrating “Revolutionary America,” a Hillsdale Studios production coming to a theater near you May 31 - June 2.

Here's a glimpse inside Hillsdale's K-12 Program Guide, a comprehensive scope and sequence for every subject, every grade, in some of the best classical schools in the country. Here are all the poems students read in 5th grade. The ones in bold are for memorizing. This is part of a yearlong course in literature in which students read novels and nonfiction works as well.

“Trump v. Barbara involves issues fundamental to the meaning of the Declaration and the future of the American experiment in republican government.” 🇺🇸 Big questions about citizenship and the Constitution are back at the center of national debate. Read the newest issue of Imprimis: bit.ly/41pnRhK.

This eagle is here to eat fish and celebrate America’s 250th birthday. And she’s all out of fish.

Earlier, I posted something about AI, which is important, opportune, and dangerous. I seem to have attracted the attention of the extraordinary Franklin, even while he dominates the culture. I confess I knew nothing of Franklin until he became part of our national security strategy. A ubiquitous AI creature, Franklin has pointed his flipper at our college. Franklin knows that we do better when we govern ourselves.

I am saddened to record this. I am a better man for having known my friend @charliekirk11, just as this country is better for his work. Charlie had a curious mind and wanted to improve it. He sought to know the basic things of this Earth and how they reach to Heaven, where he must be now. My wife and I, and all of @Hillsdale, send our condolences to Erika and the children.

I am shocked and saddened by the murder of @charliekirk11. He was my friend. I met him when he was 19—a sharp young man, full of questions. I watched him grow into a good man and a great American. We pray for his family. Charlie’s virtues were many, and his work for this country will endure.

In the latest episode of “The Story of America,” a co-production of Hillsdale College, @WhiteHouse and @usedgov, @SecDef Pete Hegseth discusses the birth of the @USArmy. 250 years ago, patriots answered the call of liberty against nearly insurmountable odds.

As Memorial Day approaches, we honor those who gave the “last full measure of devotion” for our country. The College was nearly forced to shut its doors in the 1860s, when over 400 students and graduates joined the Union Army. Some of their letters survive in our archives. 🧵
