The @DefraGovUK Minister @StephenMorganMP has announced new plans to end carbon dioxide stunning of pigs to prevent suffering. ‘High concentration carbon dioxide is widely used to stun pigs in British slaughterhouses, but independent evidence has highlighted serious concerns about the suffering it causes animals.  The government has now put forward proposals to replace the practice with more humane alternatives, such as argon gas and automated electrical stunning. Both methods are proven to substantially reduce animal suffering’ gov.uk/government/news/new-p…

Five years on, we remember our dear friend and Patron, Sir David Amess. David’s kindness and tireless dedication to animal welfare continue to inspire our work. Much missed, always remembered. Our thoughts are with his family, friends and all who loved him. Mark Francois MP & @VictoriaAtkins said moving words on Sir David at our event last week: #SirDavidAmess  youtu.be/jCAW3OJGmds?si=vvLF…

Today marks the 5th anniversary of the darkest of days. My dad lifted his eyes to heaven and I am left down here to fight for him. I will never stop until I get answers. Please keep us in your prayers. #justiceforsirdavid

🐶Always an absolute pleasure to speak at @AFR_UK event at #CPC26 and meet the wonderful Lorraine & Chris Platt of @ConservativeAWF. 🧫 The science is clear - there is no need for the @ukhomeoffice to keep issuing MILLIONS & MILLIONS of licences for experiments on live animals every single year. Non animal alternatives now exist. 🐾Time to get behind #HerbiesLaw and finally consign this barbaric practice to history. #HerbiesLaw #AnimalFreeResearch

Today is #WorldAnimalDay, the day where people across the globe stand together and call for action to advance animal welfare. This year’s theme, ‘See the World Through Their Eyes’, invites us to look at the world from an animal’s perspective and consider how our actions affect their lives. Whether it’s the animals we share our homes with, the wildlife around us or those living in captivity, every animal deserves to be treated with kindness and compassion. From ending cages for laying hens, pig farrowing crates, strengthening legal protections for farmed fish and ending the use of frankenchickens to introducing mandatory animal welfare labelling- there is much to do. worldanimalday.org/
