This is extremely awesome. Major respect to @RN_WBB
Cool moment:
Last night, YU Lady Macs married captain star (and reigning skyline player of the year) Daniella Bessler, momentarily lost her head covering in a game against Rutgers-Newark. The girls on the other team shielded her from view while she fixed it

First of all, this is not âunder the watch of the IDFâ. Burin is in Area A. And itâs a response to the below, also carried out regularly and with impunity (âunder the watch of the PAâ?), though you donât hear about these bc a) there isnât a massive, well-funded activist infrastructure dedicated to documenting *these* attacks, and b) the IDF is not at all interested in protecting Yitzhar, which is part of why Yitzharâs inhabitants hate the IDF: timesofisrael.com/in-2nd-attâŠ
Now, personally, I think Yitzhar is bad and should be permanently dismantled. I furthermore think (and have stood up in synagogue and given sermons about this) that the entire idea of price-tag attacks is a moral abomination. Anyone found guilty of one should be in prison, and will certainly face Godâs wrath.
But I also am not going to sit here and pretend that all this happens for no reason. Iâm not going to ignore or, worse, excuseâas the activists doâall the regular violence to which this is a response. Surely the attacks directed against Israelis in the West Bankâusually with no consequencesâare worth at least a tiny fraction of the attention that the retaliatory attacks get? And Iâm not going to act like somehow the PA doesnât exist. You donât want responsibility for Nablus? Then donât accept it.
Each of these attacks is reprehensible. And more than that, members of each âsideâ should feel especially morally responsible for the assaults coming from their fellows. If that were where the discourse started, it would be a vast improvement over where we are now.

âEveryone uses @SefariaProject, from chassidic Jews to kanye west fans doing opposition researchâ
I hope @AlexEdelman is now doing their marketing.
Crazy episode with @birbigs and @AlexEdelman, where not only does Alex have some great jewish jokes, but plugs @SefariaProject non profit at the end.

Feeling left out in daf today. People talking about alu metzios as being their first perek, and rabbi zucker started with perek hamafkid. #NotAllMetzios
This is kinda my theology in a tweet
I hope itâs a wonderful article, but I have no clue what it means to have an exclusive interview with Rav Schachter.
He takes questions any time of day and is recorded and on the record for at least two hours every day.
Why is no one pointing out the set of Rav Soloveitchik commentary on Torah?!

Rav Ya'akov Kmainetzky ZT"L, asked his students what their #NewYearsResolutions were.
In shock, the students asked "But this isn't the Jewish new year?"
He responded "The entire country is using this as a time for self reflection and self improvement, and we wont?!â
Still great New Years Torah

3/3 Â Â Â Battling that combination of ideologies is the work of more than a committee or a single university. Â It is not going to be changed by hiring or firing a single person, or posting on X, or yelling at people who donât post as you wish when you wish, as though posting is the summation of oneâs moral character. Â This is the task of educating a generation, and also a vast unlearning. Part of the problem is a simple herd mentality â people screaming slogans whose meaning and implication they know nothing of, or not wishing to be disliked by taking an unpopular position. Â Some of it is the desire to achieve social status by being the sole or greatest victim. Â Some of it is simple, old fashioned Jew hatred, that ugly arrow in the quiver of dark hearts for millenia. Â Â
Â
In this generation, outside of Israel, we are called to be Maccabees of a different order. We do not fight the actual battle but we search for the cruse of oil left behind.  Remember the oil was to last one night, but lasted eight - which means there were seven nights of miracle.  But of course the first night was the greatest miracle â because the motivation to light the initial candle, to ensure the continuity and vitality of tradition in each generation, that is the supreme miracle.  Dispute but also create. Build the institutions you value, donât merely attack those you denigrate.  We are at a moment when the toxicity of intellectual slovenliness has been laid bare for all to see. Time to kindle the first candle.  Create that miracle for us and all Israel â Blessing to you and Hag Urim Sameach. â at Newton, MA

The sages taught: Does hate speech require kavanah (intent)? Yes.
Asks the Gemara, how do we know? Because we already know that you can't fulfill the Shema unless you have kavanah (intent).
And we can derive the laws of hate speech from the laws of love speech. Just as a statement of love requires intent, so does a statement of hate.
Now, let's assume that 80 percent of the phony "progressives" at Harvard, Penn, and MIT, chanting "globalize the intifada" do not "hate the Jewish people with all their heart, with all their soul, and with all their might." Rather, they are just there to look cool or to rebel against their parents or to virtue signal. Or if you want say that they are there because they hate the Jewish people only with all of their unconscious, but lack "da'at" (overt knowledge) as to why. We conclude that Their words do not constitute the threshold for hate speech.
That said, 20 percent actually know what they are saying, and together they form a quorum. Just as you can count someone in a minyan even if they are day dreaming, you can count the virtue signalers amongst the genuine Jew-haters.
And if you want to say that "from the river to the sea" doesn't constitute a call for genocide, will you cut off the head of a chicken and tell me it won't die? (psik reishei v'lo yamus)? Learn from this. Individual hate requires intent, but collective hate speech does not.
The presidents of @Harvard, @MIT, and @Penn were all asked the following question under oath at todayâs congressional hearing on antisemitism:
Does calling for the genocide of Jews violate [your universityâs] code of conduct or rules regarding bullying or harassment?
The answers they gave reflect the profound moral bankruptcy of Presidents Gay, Magill and Kornbluth.
Representative @EliseStefanik was so shocked with the answers that she asked each of them the same question over and over again, and they gave the same answers over and over again.
In short, they said:
It âdepends on the contextâ and âwhether the speech turns into conduct,â that is, actually killing Jews.
This could be the most extraordinary testimony ever elicited in the Congress, certainly on the topic of genocide, which to remind us all is:
âthe deliberate killing of a large number of people from a particular nation or ethnic group with the aim of destroying that nation or groupâ
The presidentsâ answers reflect the profound educational, moral and ethical failures that pervade certain of our elite educational institutions due in large part to their failed leadership.
Donât take my word for it.
You must watch the following three minutes. By the end, you will be where I am.
They must all resign in disgrace.
If a CEO of one of our companies gave a similar answer, he or she would be toast within the hour.
Why has antisemitism exploded on campus and around the world?
Because of leaders like Presidents Gay, Magill and Kornbluth who believe genocide depends on the context.
To think that these are the leaders of Ivy League institutions that are charged with the responsibility to educate our best and brightest.
On the bright side, our congressional leaders deserve accolades for showing tremendous leadership and moral clarity in their statements, by the questions they asked, and the respectfulness with which they conducted the hearing.
It was a masterclass of how our government and democracy should operate.
If you have time, please watch the entire hearing. Throughout the hearing, the three behaved like hostile witnesses, exhibiting a profound disdain for the Congress with their smiles and smirks, and their outright refusal to answer basic questions with a yes or no answer.
