Cheshunt is better than this.
Farage wants to turn you against your neighbours - then he'll dole out tax cuts to the super-rich and shaft areas like ours.
No solutions, just scapegoats.
I appreciate people are frustrated with Labour. Farage is not the answer.

I’m appalled by the attack at a synagogue in Crumpsall.
The fact that this has taken place on Yom Kippur, the holiest day in the Jewish calendar, makes it all the more horrific.
My thoughts are with the loved ones of all those affected, and my thanks go to the emergency services and all the first responders.

Stand Up To Racism have postponed Friday’s counter-demonstration.
Reports say multiple Nazi groups are mobilising, making the risk of violence too great.
Asylum seekers didn’t break Britain – the super-rich did. Let's unite against the billionaires robbing us all!

Stand Up To Racism has postponed the counter-protest.
Multiple Nazi groups are mobilising locally and @AntiRacismDay has warned there would be a serious risk of violence to anti-racists.
We’ll keep organising in our community for unity over division.
I support @AntiRacismDay’s counter-protest at the Marriott in Cheshunt.
The far right is preying on local people to stoke division.
It’s not asylum seeker’s fault people are struggling - it’s because inequality is out of control and the super-rich are robbing us all blind.

BREAKING: The average household will be £500 better off in the final year of this parliament.
This isn’t just about lines on a graph. This is about improving people’s lives.

ALT Graphic with a red background. White text at the top reads: "Spring Statement 2025." Below, smaller text says: "OBR confirms: Households will be £500 better off with this Labour Government." At the bottom, the Labour logo is on the left, and white text on the right says: "Bring change to Britain"
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The OBR cannot and has not confirmed that Households will be £500 better off in 2029, and this figure does not appear anywhere in the March forecast. The forecast gives a range of possible scenarios, including the possibility of missing the fiscal target by £48b.

The Reform Party’s budget amendment said NOTHING about issues which matter to local people:
❌Affordable Housing
❌Local services
❌Fly-Tipping
Reform are all talk.
They don’t care about improving this area - they’re playing games.

Why did the Tories create new, paid jobs for their Councillors?
They had a leadership election after Lewis Cocking became an MP - and it was a close one.
Were these jobs promised to win over support in the leadership election?
Who knows for sure, but the timings interesting!

🚨 The Tories and Reform just voted to BLOCK Labour’s investment in schools for:
🥣 breakfast clubs
👔 cheaper school uniforms
👦 new teams to keep children safe
👩🏫 qualified teachers in every classroom
Shameful. They are not on your side.

The Tory budget delivered cuts, cuts, cuts for local people.
They couldn’t find money for crucial support for local families - but found cash for their own Councillors with new plum Cabinet spots.
Labour put local workers and families first.
The Tories looked after their own.

Sainsbury’s cut 1,500 jobs last February—was that Labour’s fault too?
With £1 billion in expected profits, there’s no need for local job losses.
Lewis should be demanding Sainsbury’s use their bumper profits to save local jobs—not whinging on Twitter.
Sainsbury's is a key employer in my constituency, so it is worrying to hear that they will be cutting 3000 jobs nationwide.
Sadly, this is the inevitable consequence of Labour's decision to raise taxes on employment.
