Retail crime is not a victimless crime. It affects businesses, frontline employees, and the communities we serve.
I was pleased to join policing and industry partners at the Retail Organized Crime Conference to discuss how we can strengthen our response to this growing challenge.
In Peel, our dedicated retail theft unit has helped recover over $1 million in stolen property, demonstrating the power of collaboration in keeping our communities safe.
Policing cannot solve retail crime alone.
Together, we can continue to make a difference.

As officers from across the country ride and run toward Ottawa as part of the Canadian Police Memorial Ride to Remember, they carry with them the memory of colleagues who lost their lives in service to others.
The ride and run brings police services and communities together in advance of the national memorial service, reflecting the deep respect our profession holds for those who made the ultimate sacrifice. Their service, courage, and commitment continue to leave a lasting mark on policing in Canada.

The Canadian Police and Peace Officers' Memorial Service honours the officers whose service ended too soon, and whose absence continues to be felt by families, friends, colleagues, and communities across the country. We remember them not only for the sacrifice they made, but for how they lived, served, and made a difference.

This was an incredible event celebrating the importance of community and that we are better, together. A record year, over 500 racers & near 1000 participants showed up for each other & against racism. Thank you to all who came out and to the organizers for a memorable day.☀️👏
What an incredible day at the 2026 Race Against Racism this weekend. Hundreds of participants from community members to partners came together to mark the 25th anniversary of this event and stand against racism.
