Almost time to do my annual December social media de-tox. Before I go, I want to give my sincere thanks to:
🇺🇸 The IRG team and its Board of Directors. The best in the business. We had our best year yet in every department (especially fundraising - although there's still time to donate secure.reforminggovernment.o…). I'm lucky to work with so many smart people!
🇺🇸 Our donors who allow us to do what we do.
🇺🇸 All the folks who helped us - and me personally. Just know, that I'm grateful for those who take my calls, volunteer to help, give me/us advice, etc. Truly.
🇺🇸The handful of people who doubted me and cast criticism #rocketfuel #dailymotivation
See you in 2025. LFG. 💪

"Chris Reader, chief operating officer at the conservative Institute for Reforming Government, said in a post on X that eliminating the personal income tax would "draw new people and capital into the state, turn around the demographic decline, get more kids into our schools, and grow revenues."

Media should ping this guy👇

Wisconsin absolutely should work to eliminate the personal income tax. It’s how we draw new people and capital into the state, turn around the demographic decline, get more kids into our schools, and grow revenues. The status quo tax system pushes people and their incomes to other states. reforminggovernment.org/new-…

Today’s hilarious line of attack:
In “leaked audio” Tom Tiffany says he wants to cut your taxes by eliminating the income tax.
Please shout it from the rooftops.
Thx for the prayers — Turns out cutting out chunks of yer liver is no joke, man.
Good news, bad news, and next steps…
Good: big liver surgery last week successfully cleared out a bunch o cancer. (Pretty darn great — considering 9 mons ago, when told I had 3-4 months to live, surgery wasn't even an option.)
Bad: Tests on the tumors show they were more advanced than we thought — meaning always-mutating tumors have developed some resistance tricks to our former treatment protocol.
Bummer but that's life, and was eventually expected.
Next:
We're gunna change up treatment to carpet-bomb-chemo as much of the rest of the cancer as we can for a bit.
Send chemo tips -- do NOT send more Nickelback promotional materials (am painfully aware they’ll be performing at the Hondo Rodeo Fest in Febr).
Grateful to God for this extra time — both time w/ fam and time to fight. Can't say enough good things about…

You've been quiet as of late, Senator. Just wanted to say that I continue to pray for you and your family.

Just got around to reading this eye-opening writeup from @GhaleonQ.
We've been hammering MPS on its poor academic outcomes, but did you know Madison's scores are practically as bad, especially given the gap in poverty levels between the cities?

Curious what the @DemSocialists platform actually includes? Check out this thread for some "highlights" from the "program," drafted April-June 2026.
American capitalism has fueled the greatest nation known to humanity, yes, despite her flaws that we continue to address. But DSA-supported candidates like @FrancescaHongWI want to tear it all down.
Solidarity!

I genuinely do not understand. Why close overnight some of the highest-performing schools in Wisconsin, devastate religious communities from Superior to Sparta, increase taxes, depopulate Milwaukee, and spend immense political capital?

2030 is when Governor Hong would aim to end the Milwaukee voucher program.
"We're looking at, at least, the next 2nd or 3rd session. So, that would be around 2030."
Special needs and Wisconsin would close before that.

Wisconsin has one of the nation’s strongest open records laws. But having a strong law and enforcing it are two different things.
A months-long review of court decisions, lawsuits, settlements, agency records and our own reporting revealed a pattern.
Here’s what we found. 🧵

“It’s no wonder employers say Wisconsin is headed the wrong way: we’re already among the highest-taxed states in the nation, with top-10 individual and property tax burdens and a top-12 corporate tax burden,” said @Kurt_R_Bauer. “Property taxes are a punishing fixed cost, owed whether a business is just starting out, expanding, or struggling. With Governor Evers’ 400-year autopilot increase, Wisconsin is on track to climb even higher.”

A majority of Wisconsin employers (71 percent) support eliminating the state’s personal income tax, with 46 percent saying they “strongly support” it. Only 14 percent of respondents opposed eliminating the state’s income tax.
