Austin City Council knew this and hired politically connected Endeavors anyway to run more failed homeless operations. For years. Millions. And incumbents will still get the votes.
🚨 Inside the Largest Government Funded Human Trafficking Ring in History: Your tax dollars trafficked over 300,000 children across the United States while NGOs enriched themselves with millions of dollars. One NGO received $895 million to traffic children across the US. Others got $100+ million, and NGOs in areas like Tucson, Arizona pocketed millions but now receive nothing since the border shut down. In this video we break down the contracts, speak with former Border Patrol, and confront the NGOs. It’s a must watch, like it and share it. Make sure no one forgets the hundreds of children lost in the government’s hands.

AUSTIN MAN slams into a stopped minivan at 103 mph on Mother's Day, right in front of a cop, and kills a fire captain hours after his fifth son was born. DA Jose Garza's office asked him to pay a small fine. Marvin Taylor was on his way to pick up his four other boys so they could meet their new baby brother. He was sitting at a red light on Koenig Lane when a Dodge Durango doing 103 in a 45 zone slammed into him and threw his van 150 feet. He died pinned inside. The officer found the driver, Rodney Bremby, with bloodshot eyes and slurred speech and stench of alcohol. He was charged with intoxication manslaughter, which carries up to 20 years in prison. A judge revoked his bond twice while the case was pending, and both times he was back out within two weeks. On Monday he got 10 years of probation, community service, and $535 in fees. Five boys have lost their father, and the man who killed him just had to pay a small fine and promise not do it again before going back home.

Remember when @AleshireLaw obtained years worth of Austin City Council credit card expense reports? I've collected more. Combined, we have data from October 1, 2023 through August 31, 2026. Since the City still hasn't posted it online, I've published it to Rise Up Austin sites.google.com/view/riseup… You are welcome to download it and analyze it yourself.

I investigated a homicide there. Two individuals from Sunrise were fighting and one kicked the other in the head with steel-toed boots. Convicted of Manslaughter.

‘I will not be silenced’ … turns off comments.
I’m ok. Make no mistake: this is an attempt to target political enemies and weaponize federal law enforcement. For ten years, Trump has targeted me with baseless lies and smear campaigns. This is just the latest escalation in his campaign of political intimidation. I will not be silenced.

I think there at least hundreds of City employees —union and non-union—who have seen the inefficiencies, lost opportunities, and ripoffs of taxpayers for years who will tip off our charter amendment auditor where to look for waste and corruption. I’ll guarantee anonymity to any City Employee who wants to blow the Whistle. Just call me or email me.

The City of Austin has given $4.8 million to Life Anew Restorative Justice since 2019, and they rolled into the scene of Austin's 46th homicide yesterday to provide 'community support.' Same outfit that tried to 'reimagine' Austin's police academy. Oh, and look what happened to the Patton founders' salaries once Austin taxpayers started kicking in. Definitely some restorative justice.
A local violence intervention organization is providing community support following a homicide that occurred at a bus stop in north Austin.   Read more at the link in our bio.

With the 46th homicide, Austin is now on pace for 60 homicides this year. A 6% INCREASE over last year. Meanwhile other U.S. metros are seeing an 18-20% DECREASE over last year. (Yesterday a man was also charged with murder in a June fentanyl overdose. I don’t know yet if that is 47. Anyone?)
Man dies after incident in S Austin parking lot; homicide investigation underway. Officers were called about 8 p.m. Tuesday to the La Madrid Apartments, 11320 Menchaca Road, for a report of a shooting or stabbing cbsaustin.com/news/local/man…

Sounds to me like a perfect place for “municipal receivership”. Legislation inbound.
Austin is declaring war on immigration enforcement. The city wants a law barring its police from helping ICE, even though its own lawyers concede Texas banned exactly that in 2017. So the city paid a "human rights consulting group" $75,000 to tell the city to pass the ordinance anyway and commit taxpayer money to fighting the state when it sues. Meanwhile, council approved another $854,872 for immigration contracts to assist migrants, pushing their combined ceilings to $6.68 million. A city commission then voted 7-0 to ask council to "reaffirm the separation" between APD and ICE, fund new legal aid clinics, expand "Know Your Rights" training for migrants, require reporting whenever city resources touch federal immigration authorities, and formally ask the federal government to stop ICE operations in Austin. On Monday, a second commission takes up the same request and discusses emergency relief for families separated by detention. Last year it voted 10-0 for a fund handing cash grants for rent, utilities and food to families whose breadwinner is detained or deported. Austin is building a full-service government for people the federal government is trying to deport, and sending the bill to taxpayers.

.@EllenTroxclair read a litany of @AustinJustice posts to the stand-in DA Garza sent in his place.
.@EllenTroxclair absolutely cooks @JosePGarza's office. Garza was too chicken to show up himself so he sent one of his lackeys. #txlege

X is setting the agenda for Texas policy. Texas House lawmakers spent yesterday grilling the Travis County DA's office over dismissed murder cases and released repeat offenders, and pressing Mayor Watson on city nonprofit contracts. A lot of what the committee walked through came from original research and reporting that started on X, including cases first documented by @AustinJustice. (At times, committee members read posts word for word!) Credit rarely makes the record, but the ideas moving the Capitol and the Governor's office increasingly start with independent journalists and creators on X. Yesterday was one more reminder that original work on X is now the leading source of political influence in digital media.

It doesn’t have to be this way. Another Austin murder.

The real question here is: How many of those could have been prevented by keeping a previously-arrested person in jail for charges they already had? The DA's office has blood on their hands and they don't care.

Two people are dead in Austin after two separate homicides early this morning. This cannot become normal. Austin deserves leadership that makes public safety a top priority and demands results. It’s time for new city leadership. November 3rd, we have a choice.
