Serving in elected office should be an honor, not a retirement plan.
That’s why I voted against increasing pensions for retired politicians.
Josh McLaurin supported the increase. He then voted to double his own senate salary.
While Georgia families worry about their own retirement savings, politicians shouldn’t be voting themselves more generous benefits.
Public service is supposed to mean serving the public. Not yourself.
