8 months ago, I hit a wall.
Pressure was sky-high. As a technical co-founder, I was the sole person who could tackle our outdated dependencies. As a small and early stage team, hiring was off the table. Every weekend blurred into the next as I threw every AI tool at the upgrade task, yet nothing worked.
We were stuck.
I couldn’t let it go. For months, I obsessed over how to get AI to handle messy, high-stakes engineering work-not just toy problems. Most models just fizzled out when faced with the tough stuff.
Fast forward to last weekend: I ran the same upgrade task again. This time, our own @CyrusAgent powered through 6 straight hours of breaking changes, end-to-end. I came back on Monday, and it was done.
Now that we're here, I feel like I have my creative time back and I'm not stuck on the codebase "chores". There's so much that's possible.

To new and even experienced entrepreneurs, few things in business are more distracting, mysterious, and frustrating than bookkeeping. So many people I know accept it as an archaic and mostly manual problem to solve, where the best option is often to outsource it at a large cost.

Who wants to manually account for the accrued revenue that might be different from the invoice date? Here comes the service date option! Now you can set up service date for any line item when creating an invoice.
💸 Automated FX gains and losses
When you move money from one currency to another or get paid in a different currency, Ceedar handles all the foreign exchange gains and losses calculations without you having to bat an eye!

Imagine flying a plane with an altimeter that was 2 minutes out of date.
One of the biggest problems as you scale your company is that accounting and financial metrics become harder and harder to access for a layman.
They morph into a black box that requires manual complex work by an army of accountants to get access to accurate numbers.
In the early days, we had a single company and we used Xero.
I could deep dive into any account in 10 minutes.
As we got bigger and acquired more companies, we moved to far more complex enterprise tools like Sage.
They are confusing and designed for accountants.
Now, instead of being able to immediately deep dive into financials using well designed software, we often have to rely on humans to create reports for us, often after complex consolidations and 1-2 week delays.
This massively slows down the feedback loop and means that most at scale businesses — especially complex conglomerates with many entities, like Tiny — are using lagging indicators.
Like flying a plane with delayed dials.
This seems insane and backwards.
I am SO excited for AI to be able to automate much of this and tools like @CeedarHQ / @entrecurious to give us daily AI powered accounting metrics that are accurate and automatically consolidated 🙏🏻
Companies I’m excited about for this same reason: @Rippling / @tryramp / @glean.
