You know how many stories @ABC has done on the murder of Gary “Bubba” Blair? 0. That’s how many. 0. Black jailers deprived him of food and water, and left him to die on the floor. Why doesn't anyone care about this? This man was deprived of food and water while he was in jail. Waiting on a psych transfer. The black jailers saw him every single day. He lost almost 100lbs in less than 6 months. He was forced to scoop water from the toilet to drink. He went nearly a month without a shower because there was no water. According to his family, the cause of death was profound dehydration. He wrote to his father, begging for help. He told his Dad he was starving, that he was being beaten. He wrote, "there's no help for a white man." He wrote to the judge, but the judge never received the letter. A man was treated worse than animal. For months. He was found dead, on the feces-covered floor of a cell. 6 black jail employees were fired. Not arrested. The death was ruled a homicide. These people saw him, heard him, and probably smelled him. EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. Now imagine if 6 white jailers had done that to a black man. Or if ICE did it to an illegal. Cities would still be burning. His name was Gary "Bubba" Blair. His life mattered. His death was a crime.
