**Some Personal News** THE TEN YEAR WAR, my new book, is available for pre-order. It’s an effort to tell the story of Obamacare and, more broadly, the story of American politics over the last decade. (1) read.macmillan.com/lp/ten-ye…

Abdul El-Sayed last debate: "My opponent here is gonna make this about him and about me, but really in the end this is about you." Mike Rogers tonight: "My opponent's gonna try to make this about me versus him, but I'm gonna tell you this is about you."

Susan Collins says she's delivered for Maine. But the question is what baseline do you measure her accomplishments against? @saletan dove into the record and found her case pretty unpersuasive thebulwark.com/p/the-case-ag…

McMorrow, ever graceful and able to turn a bad situation into a real teaching moment, should be a lot more pissed off than she appears to be. But that just speaks to her character in the face of whatever the hell this was. From me in @MichiganAdvance michiganadvance.com/2026/10/…

We'll see how this goes at tonight's U.S. Senate debate "We want it to be respectful, and we want it to be with decorum."
The final U.S. Senate debate will take place between Abdul El-Sayed and Mike Rogers tonight at 7 p.m. at Broadcast House, moderated by WXYZ's Chuck Stokes, Carolyn Clifford and Alicia Smith. Before the debate, Stokes detailed the rules for the debate. Listen to the rules here.

If you're looking for a policy-focused discussion with Republican Mike Rogers and Democrat Abdul El-Sayed, the Detroit Economic Club provided it. Over an hour, Rogers and El-Sayed laid out major differences on economics, approach and political style. detroitnews.com/story/news/p…

Yup. McMorrow was wronged. I wrote about it that week. washingtonmonthly.com/2026/0…

Just before this poll hit, the Mitchell poll that also showed me in single digits hit. That poll was bullshit - and our team proved it. It was an open SurveyMonkey link that people were able to send around to friends and take multiple times. We expended a lot of capital (and took a serious risk) - calling it out as bullshit. MIRS ultimately declined to publish it because of shoddy methodology. But then this one hit immediately after. It was a one-two punch. Then all of the sudden it was a pattern - and people believed it had to be true. It killed us. These were some of the absolute worst days on the campaign. Especially for my team. There are no words to explain the morale blow, and nothing I could do or say to my team to fix it. Just an excruciating, nauseating blow. By that point, we took a risk and we spend our money. We put our ads up. They were working. But the damage was done. And I was drowned out by outside spending and the narrative that we had completely collapsed.

You know why I'm so mad about this? I've been a pollster for 20 years, but I'm under a new company name (my own). You people make it so much harder for REAL people like me to get traction when we do everything right. Shame on you.

I ran a SuperPAC that supported @MalloryMcMorrow. This poll was used by several donors to pull back funding at a time we were being outspent by $80 million.
There’s a non-zero chance McMorrow’s campaign saw this fake poll and was a factor in her decision to drop out.

El-Sayed is underperforming Benson by 5 in @maristpoll’s new likely-voter survey, with a +2 lead to her +6. His deficit is largest among non-white voters and women, while both run similarly among men and independents.

We were investigating Wedgewood for faking their data and emailed them for comment this morning, ahead of publishing the findings tomorrow. They are trying to cover up their fraud with the "we were doing a social experiment" excuse. Full story here: blog.fiftyplusone.news/p/fif…

This is irresponsible amplification of false information attempting to discredit a free and independent press simply for reporting the facts. Our statement replying to @RobertKennedyJr:
.@SherylNYT reporting on HHS is a three-legged stool resting on: 1. Anonymous sources, 2. Compromised sources with undisclosed conflicts of interest, and 3. Sinister speculation masquerading as fact—all in service to her unhinged hatred of Donald Trump. #TDS

Dr. Oz just announced CMS is freezing ANOTHER batch of Medicaid payments to CA, this one the largest by far. Feds freezing $1.2b for CA's personal care services program. This brings CA's total to $3.4 billion deferred payments, most of it for in-home, personal care.
