On their sixth album, Citizen channel a mood of regret and reckoning in songs that balance post-hardcore propulsion with disarming buoyancy

Punk? Indie? Shoegaze? Alt Rock? Call it whatever you want, but there is absolutely no denying that Citizen’s new album is nothing short of brilliance.

.@CitizenMi just released their powerful new album, "Halcyon Blues." The band takes elements from soaring '90s alt-rock, punchy emo, and melancholic post-punk to create catchy, downbeat songs.

.@CitizenMi have released maybe the best summer-y indie punk record in years and a clear career high. Melodic perfection.

ALBUM REVIEW: Citizen — 'Halcyon Blues' (8/10)

"‘Halcyon Blues’ feels like such a solid record from one of the best to ever do it. Citizen show exactly why they’re one of the more prominent and important bands not only in the genre, but the scene as a whole. They feel like the gold standard on how to mature as a band, in all the right ways."
