Leaseholders in properties under 11m are facing bankruptcy because they cannot afford to cover cladding costs to ensure building safety standards are met.
The Government must act to protect leaseholders from extortionate costs to pay for maintenance on property they do not own.

This is an open letter to @michaelgove on behalf of landlords in Birmingham. We are against Birmingham City Council's landlord licence scheme. It is badly conceived and will backfire by increasing rents.

Give these guys a cheer and follow them. They've given sweat and blood and won some incredible concessions that they won’t benefit from. No one left behind. Strong together, divided we fall.
All leaseholders are blameless but last Feb circa 2.5m of us were excluded from your duty of care & protection. We're desperate #NonQualifyingLH @michaelgove & @luhc please end our misery &

The day I feared has finally arrived. My @railpen owned block is being evacuated. I am literally being forced from my own home. When will this ever end #buildingsafetycrisis #endourcladdingscandal

📢 WE NEED YOUR HELP!
Complete our survey on issues with EWS1 forms 👇
Building data will be anonymised but is needed to check how many buildings are impacted.
We will discuss the findings with @luhc officials next week.

Waiting for @michaelgove to shine some light on how he will abolish leasehold, he should pass the bill all leasehold flat to be 999 years to begin with… then start untangling

In the last 3.5 years our building has had to pay £1.3 million for extra fire safety measures including waking watch and extra insurance. VAT was charged on this. The government is profiteering. Give it back and help small time landlords unfairly discriminated as non-qualified.

Being a leaseholder in a shoddy 'newly converted' block, when you check your phone to see 25 new messages on the usually quiet block chat, your heart drops. Flood? Fire? Brothels? Police around again? 1/

"As @luhc made clear, the Government expect developers to take responsibility for any building developed by any company in their corporate group, including cases where they acquire the original developer"
❌ @gallifordtry are still evading responsibility.

Thank you @ShabanaMahmood for your ongoing commitment to support @IslingtonGates to make our building safe from fire safety defects and the removal of flammable cladding!
Please take note @gallifordtry

Will you meet with Mick Platt CEO of Wallace & related companies who are desperately trying to sell all their liabilities in #BuildingSafetyCrisis
Lhrs once again abandoned despite "Valued added" benefit of these corporate owners

Those that know, are well aware that this man had the keys to solving the #EndOurCladdingScandal and was *the* reason for so much leaseholder pain in recent years
It will be disastrous if he is leading this country

Can just imagine all the Indian origin Britons going starry eyed at this.
If you're a leaseholder & you support @RishiSunak, you deserve every bill of £50k+ for fire safety defects that is coming for you.

I really hope @GregClarkMP seeks to continue + build on all of the good work @michaelgove has done re #BuildingSafetyCrisis + does not take us backwards.
Buildings are still unsafe + more must be done.

Seeing lots of these letters this week, are Freeholders asset stripping? Have they found a loophole in the Government’s waterfall?
Ok @michaelgove @10DowningStreet Now this is what freeholders are doing. Does this mean they will avoid the waterfall and leaseholders will be left holding the bills? @EOCS_Official

1/10 Landlord offloading a cladding affected building? The phrase rats off a sinking ship come to mind, although it is possible that this is mere coincidence.
Selling up won't avoid liability. Whether it makes enforcing against that landlord difficult is a different question.
Landlord is offering to sell leasehold. Our block is undergoing external works. Widespread missing fire breaks and compartmentation yet to be done, and not billed. Estimated costs run into a few million £s. What's their game? @LiamSpender @ukcag @EOCS_Official @team_greenhalgh

He said he's concluded negotiations with builders. Our builder @gallifordtry haven't signed the pledge and refuse to pay for their criminality. What now Gove? You're the government with power and you're not upholding the law.
