Over the last 5 years, Myanmar has become a dumping ground for the rich world’s trash. Despite intl & domestic laws banning waste exports, companies continue to quietly evade regulations & exploit loopholes. @Frontier spent 6 months investigating this–here is what we found 🧵

Republicans were so insistent on allowing people to access ivermectin, they created a "right to try" law, using informed consent. That law undercut their own disingenuous argument against trans care.
When we debated SB422, I noted that hypocrisy. I'm glad the court noted it too.
Replying to @ErinInTheMorn
Furthermore, in this VERY SESSION, the state also passed SB422, which protected "the right to try" investigational drugs.
Clearly meant for ivermectin and other similar treatments.
The judge pointed out that the state's own logic collapses here:

Love Hank but I think this is an early warning sign of something being ported over from Covid twitter: non-scientists engaging in discourse about why a graph looks a way it does, believing causation to be fuzzy and subjective (it is WAY less so in climate work)

THREAD. I want to highlight two things about the ongoing authoritarian repression in Georgia. First, many mainstream Democrats in Atlanta have been either silent about or complicit in what is happening. Historically, this has been an essential feature of the rise of fascism.

Really good thread.
Iowa's child labor laws were already super permissive before this push. Why? "To protect family farms, which rely on child labor!"
Those laws are how I wound up a teen field hand on a corporate farm. Where another kid on our crew got horrifically injured.

It’s a sad day for Indiana’s trans teens.
Indiana’s legislature has fully passed a gender affirming care ban for trans youth. It is the 12th state to do so. The bill now heads to the governor’s desk.
It even bans “aiding and abetting” care.
It’s so cruel.
