CHAINALYSIS HACKED IN AI-POWERED CYBERATTACK
Blockchain analytics firm Chainalysis says hackers used “offensive agentic techniques” to gain unauthorized access to its internal systems and tools.
The breach exposed customer names, email addresses, user IDs, and organizational roles.
Chainalysis says it has found no evidence that passwords, MFA secrets, session tokens, or sensitive investigation data were compromised.
The company says the attack is unrelated to the recent $6 billion Binance hack.

🚨 UPDATE: Binance identified additional breach points in the $6.3 billion hack, with attackers using an EIP-7702 delegation to bypass normal hot-wallet approval controls.
Co-CEO Richard Teng clarified that the attack went beyond one engineer’s permissions and that investigators have not attributed responsibility to any individual.

The North Korean or AI, pick your poison 🤦♂️
🇰🇵 NORTH KOREA’S LAZARUS GROUP LINKED TO RECORD $6.3 BILLION BINANCE HACK
TRM Labs has identified North Korea’s elite TraderTraitor hacking unit as the likely perpetrator, citing high-confidence intelligence and similarities to previous attacks.
The hackers allegedly prepared at least 36 hours in advance, compromising Binance’s signing infrastructure to drain wallets across 10 blockchains in minutes.
The same group was responsible for the $1.5 billion Bybit hack in 2025.
Roughly $3 billion has been frozen, while billions remain under attacker control.

🚨 NOW: Binance co-founder Yi He says deposits operate as normal, and withdrawals should resume within the next 48 hours after upgrades to the withdrawal service.
Binance's initial investigation suggests that the security incident may involve a compromised DevOps engineer’s laptop, which allowed an attacker to gain access to a service container and submit unauthorized withdrawal transactions. We have found no evidence of any wallet private key leak. We will share a detailed technical post-mortem once the investigation is complete and the facts are fully verified.
The estimated total impact sits at around $6.3B. We have worked with blockchain partners to freeze affected assets, with ~$3 billion frozen on-chain so far.
Binance will cover all losses from the SAFU fund and the company’s funds. User funds are safe. We will also publish an updated Proof of Reserves once the remediation is complete.
As an immediate precaution, Binance has:
- temporarily suspended deposits and withdrawals while security checks are completed;
- revoked the affected address authorisation;
- engaged law enforcement and blockchain intelligence partners to trace and recover funds.
Our teams are working around the clock to resolve this issue safely and thoroughly. We are working closely with our law enforcement partners to confirm the identity of these criminals and bring them to justice.
Please rely only on official Binance channels for updates. Please feel free to contact Binance Customer Support if you have any further questions.

🚨 INSIGHT: After every major crypto hack, $BTC has gone on to new highs
Mt. Gox (2014): $BTC roughly halved. It hit $19.7k by 2017, nearly 100x off its post-collapse low.
Bitfinex (2016): $BTC fell ~20%. It was back above pre-hack levels within 3 months and hit new all-time highs in 2017.
Coincheck (2018): The hack hit during the 2018 bear market. $BTC climbed from its $3.1k bottom to $29k by the end of 2020, then reached $69k in 2021.
Binance (2019): $BTC dipped ~4%. It rallied ~136% in just 7 weeks.
FTX (2022): $BTC fell ~22% in a week to ~$15.5k. It was up ~134% a year later and hit a new ATH of $73.7k by March 2024, ~375% off the low.
Bybit (2025): The largest hack on record at the time. $BTC dipped ~5%, hit a new ATH exactly 3 months later and went on to $126k, ~70% above its 2025 low.
Binance (2026): $BTC is down ~3% so far, Binance says user funds are SAFU, and ~$2.4B of the stolen funds is already frozen.
Not financial advice, and past performance doesn’t guarantee future results. But the pattern speaks for itself.
