This is an injured gazelle, limping through the wilderness. If the Pelicans don’t eat tonight…

Zion has historically killed the Kings, averaging 24.5 points on 67.5% shooting in 13 games. Pels can’t let LaVine get his. 23 ppg against the Pels all-time. He’s scored at least 22 in every game this season.

Weaver had less influence than ever. Joe and Jordan Dumars have much more active roles.

As of today, the Pelicans have the rim lopsided shot diet in the league. No other team is as rim-leaning as them with such a wide gap between that & their 3-point frequency -- a statistical anomaly this season. The last team to have a rim frequency over 40%, the 2020-21 Pels.
Finally back with new words! My explanation behind the Pelicans continued struggle, their basketball methodology (or lackthereof); specifically the root of the offensive issues from a team-building perspective. A ton of fun graphics in this one, link below - hope y'all enjoy!

ICYMI: ā€œFears is still learning to manage an NBA offense. Murray is the veteran entrusted with organizing it. Neither has provided dependable fourth-quarter production.ā€

This is the sixth time the Hornets/Pelicans have started 0-4, with five of those coming since 2015-16. In those previous 5 seasons, New Orleans averaged 27.6 wins, with a high of 34.

I'm surprised changing equipment managers didn't fix the Pelicans' problems.
